Food:

I have been to this restaurant about 20 times and have nearly always had an excellent experience. Service is adequate to exceptional and food parings are some of best in Pittsburgh. Would recommend the crab cakes and nearly any other seafood dish. Sides compliment well but are not exorbitant in size. In the winter, you can drive into the parking garage below the restaurant and never have to go outside.

Also, good for client meals.

Very, very nice. Great food. Reasonable prices. Perfect service and a very pleasant environment. Great waiter Edward -- that is key. No 60 year old woman calling me honey, or a 17 year old calling my wife and myself YOU GUYS. Not constantly interrupting with - Is everything OK, but showing up when you would want him to show up. (He must have been watching!).
Why sit on a padded bench in a tent, next to a couple so close you could hear their most intimate conversation? At Palamino, the tables were reasonably spaced, and I did not have to shout at my wife to tell her I love her on our anniversary.
Did I mention the food? Quite enough, and extremely good. Beautiful presentation. It was not a cheap restaurant, to be sure, but you be surprised to learn that if you only want hummus and pita for an appetizer, you only pay for hummus and pita - which as you know is very inexpensive.
Really a beautiful place, and you can drive into the underground parking for $3.00 -- less than I have to pay somebody at a more pretentious restaurant to screw up my transmission. Next winter I am going to make a point of driving out of my garage and into theirs, without a coat. But I will be there before for a show in the cultural district before then.
