Lynn Rinaldi's "talented kitchen" uses "fresh ingredients" to turn out "addictive pastas" and other Italian dishes with "interesting combinations" at this East Passyunk standout regarded as an "oasis" in the "land" of South Philly "red sauce"; a "beautiful" setting, solid service and "reasonable prices" make it right for "first dates, special occasions or just a casual night having dinner at the bar" – and the cheese cart during dessert is "so much fun."; P.S. Sunday nights are BYO.

The food was delic. I had crispy chicken liver and pasta with Boar ragu. I wasn'y crazy about the waiter who served us. Made me wait a while before I finally got my wine. Had to ask him twice for it. But as I said the food was great. I highly recommend this place. BTW The Mayor of Philadelphia was there with is wife!

I have eaten at Paradiso twice, and each time, I've thoroughly enjoyed my experience. It came as a recommendation from my stepsister and her husband, and both times my boyfriend and I have not been disappointed. We chose to sit at the bar last night, and the bartender was friendly and even created a drink for me based on one of the Art in the Age liquors that I have been wanting to try forever. The Frito Misto appetizer came quickly and was perfectly cooked, and delicious. I make my own fried calimari, but mine pales in comparison to Paradiso's. Both of our meals were delicious and perfectly portioned. I like going to an Italiian place and not having to worry about lugging home leftovers that will die in my refrigerator. There is something very appealing to me about a restaurant in America that knows not only how to make food taste great but also how to give an eatable portion! Last night, there was even a band playing, a jazz band. They were at a polite volume that allowed for those who wanted to listen to listen and those who wanted to use their melodious sounds as background music to do just that. The only recommendation I would have for the owners would be to spruce the place up a bit with maybe some paintings or photographs. The walls are a bit bare. Luckily, we were facing the bar last night, where splays of breadsticks served as a unique decoration.

A great place for seafood dishes such as the seared skate. I always get the sweet bread ravioli as an appetizer. With sage & butter, it is so much like what I grew up with. The atmosphere is very relaxing & lovely.

I booked a reservation for Paradiso for Mother's Day. I walked up to the restaurant with my family at the time of the reservation. They told me that our table was not ready and that we should get a drink at the bar. There was not really room for a family of 6 at the bar so we waited outside. 20 minutes later, we still were not seated, even though there was a number of empty tables in the restaurant. We asked again and were told that our table was still not ready. The table where they wanted to seat us was still occupied by people still eating desert. We gave up and walked the 10 steps over to Mama Maria's. We were sat immediately and had a lovely meal.
