02/17/2015 10:33 amThe Peter Shields Inn is perfect for a romantic dinner. I took my girlfriend there for Valentine's Dinner and we were impressed from the minute we arrived. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They had rose petals all along the window sills with roses on the table and they had a piano player playing their grand piano in the main lobby. We started off with ordering the Butternut Squash with Smoked Trout and it was unbelievable. For our main course we had their Tenderloin and Scallops and both were out of this world. Their desserts were a nice ending to our meal. The sorbet is house made and delicious and their creme brule was just as good. The whole time it felt like we had four waiters as we never had to ask for fill ups on our water or wine. From start to finish this is one of the best restaurants to go to in Cape May. We will be going here again the next time we are Cape May! |

06/24/2014 2:19 pmSimply Extraordinary! We had our wedding at the Peter Shields Inn this past weekend. They graciously accommodated 100+ of our guests and provided extraordinarily professional service, extreme quality gourmet food, a scenic overlook that cannot be beat, and a feeling of home that cannot be matched. We are absolutely ecstatic with the outcome of the event. |

09/22/2013 6:05 pmRomantic ambiance and delicious food! Loved the pianist playing indoors, or if you want to sit overlooking the beach outside that option is great too. Attentive service; loved the summer corn soup, butternut squash bisque, hangar steak, and filet mignon with mushrooms and balsamic onions. Husband enjoyed the Tuna & Salmon duo as well. Probably the most gorgeous restaurant in Cape May; very expensive but worth it. |

04/27/2013 3:58 pmBAD!!! We arrived at 2PM in hopes of takinga quiet nap in Cape May before attending wedding down the road. Turns out the whole first floor is host to a wedding here. I mean the check in desk is literally the DJ booth. I put my bags down next to wedding parties table by the front door. Wedding parties don't fit in here (literally) Thats all okay but the music and DJ are so loud its almost comical. As we sit in bed I feel like Im in the same room. Can't sleep through this. My advice to the owner, if you host a wedding you should at least fill the rooms with guests of the wedding. Its NOT appropriate to literally mix the public in with the wedding. I mean the dance floor is at the bottom of the only public stairs. |

06/20/2015 5:27 pmA splurge oceanfront restaurant with stunning architecture, a fantastic porch and commanding views of the sea, this elegant Cape May BYO follows through with an inventive American menu served with lots of pomp by an attentive staff; granted, it's on the pricey side, but no one notices when someone sits at the grand piano and it comes to life. |
