Arrived at 8:45 after driving from the Everglades through torrential downpour to celebrate Father's Day. We were served our lukewarm soup and salad WITH our cocktails and freshly made coffee requested by another table beside us was dumped before we could even finish our dinner and request a cup. Would have preferred the restaurant just tell us they were closing rather than spoil our $56 dinner by rushing us! What the heck has happened to customer service????

P.S. Dinner --lasagna and alfredo --wasn't all that great anyway!

I have been to Phil's about 6 or 7 times in the last 2 years. Here is the scoop. Wing appetizer is very good. Soups have also been consistently good. Escargot is awesome. All their pasta and dishes with a cream sauce are very tasty. Prime rib was reasonably priced, but nothing like the photo in their advertising (clipper magazine). Half the thickness, overcooked and dry. 2 of us asked for medium rare and got medium to well. Did not send it back because you can't un-cook it and the kids had school the next day. Staff is always professional. Will go back for sure, but stick with the pasta, escargot, soups and wings.

Had Easter dinner at Phil's with 5 other people. I ordered the Mahi Mahi from the Easter Menu. When it arrived it was was over cooked and dry. The waitress noticed, and discussed it with Phil (the owner) but when the bill arrived we were charged the full amount. Phil came to the table and said 58 other people had ordered the Mahi Mahi and everyone said it was excellent. (yep he really said that!) He said he looked at it and it wasn't dry. He said he would take it off and stormed away from the table. A new bill arrived with a $10 discount. The meal was $18.95, and the total for the table was over $200.

Really??? What happened to the customer is always right? Berating the customer at the table? Not cool. We eat out often in Punta Gorda and we will not be going back to Phil's any time soon.

PS - the waitress was fine, and the other dinners were acceptable.

We are Seniors and have eaten in many Italian restaurants over the years. The best way to describe the experience of eating at Phil's Italian Restaurant is like a New Italian Neighbor moved into your neighborhood next door and they invited you over for dinner with Phil's Grandma cooking the meals with all her secret, specialty home cooked recipes that are just out of this world with flavor and taste. Meet Phil personally today since we just purchased a home in Punta Gorda... Great Italian Food with very generous portions for a very reasonable price. The Food was delicious... Love the atmosphere and the service was superb...Highly recommend Phil 41 Italian Restaurant if your looking for original home cooked meals..Phil's Restaurant is the Best Kept Secret in Punta Gorda....
