Set out on a "culinary adventure" at this BYO "hole-in-the-wall" Uptown "where your dollar goes amazingly far" with the "vast" Vietnamese menu of "flavorful" phos and other "authentic" basics; if the decor doesn't quite match, fans focus instead on the "awesomely bad" "Asian pop music" and "friendly" staff.

Found this place years ago.Whenever I travel back to my hometown it's on my list.I was there 08/15 after a Cubs game with three close friends. we were the only table in the place and the owner waited on us. The menu is extensive and the food is excellent but the neighborhood is shaky at best. Go in a group while the sun is up,,,

Pho is decent but the place smells like it hasn't been cleaned in years. I tried giving it a shot again recently for lunch and the service was also unbelievably terrible...no one bothered to check-in after serving us and started clearing my dish without asking if I was done, despite the fact there were only 2 other tables at the time. I used to come here somewhat frequently since they were a bit cheaper than the Pho places in the area, but now they cost the same ($8.75 for large Pho, don't let the outdated menu prices listed online fool you!) so it's definitely not worth it anymore. You're better off going to one of the other six thousand Pho joints on Argyle.

Got the vegetarian clay pot and couldn't stop eating it. My date got the Vegetarian Pho and they asked if she wanted vegi broth. The first time she didn't need to ask. Great atmosphere, the owner is a great crafter and artist who just moved here from Vietnam and took over the business (in 2014). BYOB so stop at the liquor store across the street and grab something for dinner.

I ordered the avocado smoothie with extra bubbles, didn't get them, my friend and I ordered fresh spring rolls, one shrimp only, one pork and shrimp, they brought out beef egg rolls, I ordered a #87 with rice noodles, no onion, they brought it out with the wrong noodles and with onions TWICE, so I switched my order to the seafood soup, then for the next 5 minutes the waitress kept trying to force us to take the messed up order home so she didn't have to pay for it. My friend asked for iced tea for 15 minutes before finally getting some. Their sugar is in salt shakers, unmarked, my friend is diabetic that could have been disastrous for him. Their explanation was they've done that for years, I explained the medical reasons they need to label it sugar and She said people need to test it first so see if it's salt or sugar. She then brought our check, without asking if we were finished, got irritated when we said it was separate bills and I asked for a 2nd smoothie before the tab was closed. Overall an absolutely HORRIBLE place, I'll never come back.
