03/17/2016 4:55 amMy mother and I went to Pine Forest Garden last night for dinner. After looking up their menu on the internet we were a little confused by the "chicken, meat, and fish" references. We called and they told us that everything is vegan!! We were thrilled to hear this because we a transitioning into all vegetarian diets. |

05/01/2013 9:38 pmThe best vegetarian restaurant in town. It is like the amazingly high quality ersatz vegetarian Chinese restaurants in Northern California where I used to live. They have an amazing mixed brown or plain white rice. Purified water and no meat in the kitchen so no such contamination of the food at any stage. No MSG really large on the window. Righteous!!! Couldn't be better unless it was non-GMO or used Organics for at least their soy, etc. But, make no mistake, I am not complaining... 'Their Kung Pao Chicken' (same as Chicken with Cashews just different nut), 'Beef with Brown Sauce', 'Beef with Broccoli', 'Sweet & Sour Pork' and their 'Won Ton Soups' are some of my very, very favorites! BTW, there is an incredible 'Herbal Won Ton Soup' variation that is not on the menu, but on the specials printed on a little plaque on the table top. It contains some especially health benefiting herbs in it and added tiny thin noodle and it tastes out of this world! I like both kinds of their Won Ton Soup and fluctuate between them. Try them sometime! Their 'Curry Chicken' is really nice, mellow comfort food and seems very British served with potatoes and fresh basil leaves. Also, did I mention, they serve the most fragrant 'Jasmine Tea' in the world? Bring a large group, they have several of the family style big round tables with the lazy suzans in the center. Nice Quan Yin altar too "Namo Kuan Shi Yin Pusa":) |
