Went there for lunch with a coupon. We seemed to be the only customers in the restaurant. However, the food was excellent. The fried calamari and zucchini appetizer was fresh and hot from the fryer, the manicotti was also delicious. The cheesecake was also yummy. The food appeared to have been freshly made. If I have any criticism, it is that the cook was too generous with the salt.

We ate lunch here today to celebrate our final exam and were pleasantly surprised. The Caesar salad, Egg plant parmagiana, and chicken piccatta were delicious. Our waiter was fun and gave us the best service. I highly recommend the walk up the stairs to this restaurant.

I dined like a friggin' KING at this place thanks to a LivingSocial voucher for $15 off of a $30 bill. These vouchers are typically used by a party of two or more; but I decided to indulge and treat myself to a 4 course meal that -- including tax and tip -- ended up only costing me net $20 (including the fact that I participate in LivingSocial's "Plus" program where I get $25 deal bucks for a $20 charge on my credit card).

So, I roll in at 2:30 pm; and, of course, the place is pretty empty. Just me, one other dude, and the waiter. I was told that I could sit wherever I like, so I walked over to a random table and was promptly brought a menu (which surprisingly had no cover page promoting the venue...it just goes straight into the options). I was also brought some bread, butter, and parmesan cheese. Unfortunately, the bread was nothing special; but meh, it's just bread.

But onward with my KINGLY FEAST. I nourished myself with some greens via the House Salad, which had a pretty good dressing. Not sure what it was, but it was definitely tasty. Next was the Italian Wedding Soup, which was also pretty tasty. For my main course, I had the Salmon. The fish itself and steamed vegetables were really good, but I can't say the same for the little side of pasta that it came with. Pretty weak for an Italian joint...! And to polish everything off, I had the Tiramisu, which is basically a friggin' taste bud explosion.

Full-bellied, I asked for my bill, left the server a tip (he was pretty good), and began walking to my car. I almost clapped for my server to follow me; but then remembered that I'm not actually a king.

In close; though the food was pretty good, it wasn't anything to call home about. I wouldn't return unless I could get a similar discount/deal. Full price...nah, you good.

Service: Whenever I order delivery from here, they never provide any napkins or utensils. Kind of boggles my mind why.

Food: They give relatively generous portions, which can be nice, but the food is really mediocre. I had pasta with white sauce, and it was just bland! A buttery white sauce is hard to come out downright bad tasting, but I was hoping for more flavor. As well, it was strange and annoying to be served crab in my pasta that's still in the shell without any proper utensils to extract the actual crab meat. I wish that had taken the crab out for me and put it in the pasta.

Among the dozen or so Italian restaurants in the area, this is clearly quite acceptable. The chef tends to add a bit of spice to some dishes but overall the experience is consistently a good one. They even have a great tartufo (vanilla ice cream coated with chocolate and a cherry inside) - yum. It's certainly worthy of a try in the neighborhood. Is it a "4" out of "5" in the ratings? Well, maybe a 3.75. But clearly at least a 3. It's very inexpensive comparatively speaking.
