Dishing out "huge portions" of "juicy" rotisserie chicken with "addicting" green sauce, these "no-frills" Peruvians prove you can indulge in a "satisfying" meal without "breaking the bank"; service can be "rushed" and noise levels "outrageous", but they're "fun with a group" and "family-friendly" to boot.

Food:

The chicken can only be described as amazing. The restaurant is surrounded by a bunch of other restaurants, Thai and Middle Eastern to be specific. It’s easy to miss. I ordered empanadas and their rotisserie chicken as a take-out order. This came out to about $20. The portions are huge and will last 2-3 for one person.

The empanadas are really something special. The best I have ever had. As I bit into it, the chicken literally melts in your mouth. As I took another bite, I discovered a melt-in-your-mouth egg and olives. It was certainly different but it tasted amazing. The crust was crunchy yet soft, and not overly fried.

The chicken also melts in your mouth. It comes with three green sauces, which are very spicy. I could only eat one without sniffling. The skin is roasted to a light crunch and the meat has a perfect texture. The seasoning and sauce complement well, and it tastes like an authentic home-cooked Peruvian meal.

Came with a couple of coworkers and was not disappointed at all. We spent a total of $70 for a whole chicken combo meal, a couple of appetizers and sodas. Couldn't believe that was the cheapest we spent on dinner our entire time in NYC. Great service and great small atmosphere that's comfortable. Will be back before my trip is over...

WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE.. I ACTUALLY THINK THEY ARE PREJUDICE WITH PUERTO RICANS. THe server with the indian ring (yes you) totally arrogant, the new peruvian server, obnoxious.. I will send out huge email to everyone i know that dines, here or the bronx location, rego park, not support you. It took you a half hour take our order we were the party of six, I was celebrating my sister's birthday, you totally ignore us, you took every oder who got there after us.. Then the food come my half chicken was less than half.. I'm not going to keep going, Im sure you are corporate restaurant, I hope you read this..

Too expensive! Lomo saltado for $24 dolars. I saw the prices and left to mancora. The lomo saltado there was great ! And $14... GO TO THE OTHER PIO PIO at 604 10th Ave, New York, NY 10036. It's huge! Fast service and delicious peruvian food!

This restaurant is what made me LOVE Peruvian food. I highly recommend that you order the Matador Combo $36 - Mama Juanita's rotisserie chicken served with
rice, beans, tostones, salchipapa & avocado salad. This is more than enough food for TWO people and you could probably share with THREE, easily. I'm addicted to their rotisserie chicken and salchipapas. The chicken comes right off the bone and is very juicy and the salchipapas are these perfectly salty sausages served with french fries. I'm pretty sure I could eat an entire order all by myself. Their house sangria is also very delicious and pairs quite perfectly with the food. The waiter service was fast, the food portions are HUGE. Overall, a fantastic establishment.
