I love this place! They have fresh homemade soups and cakes daily as well as awesome burgers and sandwiches. Fantastic outdoor patio seating as well.

Kathleen (owner) made a custom "flip flop" cake for a friend's birthday which everyone loved! It was uniquely decorated and tasted delicious. I highly recommend visiting and/or getting a custom cake made for your next event!

WORST DELI IN TOWN
Found many problems in this place. The manager is totally irritated and frustrated all the time. Some people commented about good service but I'm sorry I need to deny. We waited for 1hr but we did not get a water and order. Needless to say, ONLY 3 customers at that time. We intended to use gpon. They came up all kinds of excuse and refused to use the gpon. DO NOT OFFER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT SURE AND RESPONSIBLE. I will strongly suggest to describe details. The waitress seems to listen&understand the situation but the manager was stupid and we felt we were evicted. I know Nosh and other pipers owned by the same owner. Sorry I will NEVER dine your place. Totally not worth it and there are plenty BETTER place in Durham.

LOVE THIS PLACE! Great food and super friendly service on a consistent basis. I have been going there for about three years now it is a casual friendly neighborhood type place. The specials tend to be what I go for they make really yummy simple food. If you don’t feel like cooking and don't want to spend a ton of money Pipers is the spot.

I dined at Piper's Deli for the first time recently for dinner. Prior to visiting, I read several reviews stating they have the best burgers in town, so I could not wait to try one. Be mindful that the location is a bit tucked away in a wooded area, so you may initially pass it up as I did. The ambiance is very relaxing and comfy.

The menu featured several options, including soups, salads, chicken tenders, and sandwiches, but I ordered a classic burger with fries. I must say it was juicy and delicious! While I didn't find it to be the BEST burger in town, I must say the customer service was top notch. The waiter was attentive to our group, polite, and exceptional at anticipating our needs at every turn. I left the restaurant feeling as if the food actually pales in comparison to the great service.

Also, the restaurant has a large room available for business meetings or socials, which peaked my interest.

Overall, I loved my visit and will definitely visit again soon!

Lunch meeting with a party of 12. Celebrating two birthdays in the group. I loved the "square" table set-up so that everyone could see & talk to each other. The atmosphere was ok, nothing fancy. Service was ok, there was one server tending to everyone and my tea glass was empty several times. I know that he was working hard but when reservations have been made, the appropriate number of staff should have been available. I, along with several others, ordered the chicken fajita pita and it was great! I only heard good things about the food from everyone in our party. I was a little disappointed that we were asked about the birthdays by one of the wait staff but Pipers never offered a birthday dessert. Overall, this is not somewhere that I will frequent.
