Ordered the calzone w/ meatballs, and tiramisu. Read some reviews, seemed like they were positive. Not so good. Calzone came hot, but undercooked and doughy. It was chewy, with no crunch. Pretty easy to tell, when the rolled crust isn't even brown. The tiramisu is obviously frozen. Okay, don't expect a pizza joint to make fresh everyday, but that was weak. Mushy, watery bottom was the real problem. Not too happy with the order

Thus NY style pizza place is the best pizza in the city. Thin crust? Deep Dish? Fugetaboutit. Grab a pie from this place, and you'll find out what real pizza tastes and looks like. They deliver as well.

Okay so here's the thing, I'm a NYer (born and raised) and moved to Chicago about 2 years ago. Since I've lived here, I've been on a "quest" of sorts in order to find something that hits home and resembles the pizza I ate so regularly back home. Don't get me wrong; Chicago-style pizza is great, and something to be enjoyed once in a while, but there are fundamental differences between a NY slice and a Chicago slice. In NY, pizza shops are everywhere; people grab slices all the time- for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can eat it anywhere, walking down the street, with a paper plate, just fold it in half and you're good to go. Grab a pie at night for dinner, everyone's happy and life is good. Since I've lived in Chicago I've tried many of these so called NY-style pizzas and some have been decent, others okay, but none just right. That leads me to Piazzaco. This place is perfection. I was craving a calzone, and so I grubhubbed it. I came upon this place--they have calzones!--and noticed they offer "NY style pizza". Whatever, I thought, give it a shot. So I ordered the basics. Garlic knots, calzone, and a cheese pie. Let me say, this is IT folks! I don't write reviews like this often but I couldn't let this one go. The cheese on the pie, the crisp on the outside/soft on the inside garlic knots, even the pizza boxes everything came in brought me right back home. Everything arrived piping hot. I wanted to die when I took my first bite, everything was so good. The menus state this is, "Just a local mom and pop store" which makes me love them even more. Do yourself a favor and grab a cheese pie from this place, you will not be disappointed.

Calzones are out of this world! They are huge and the cheese is amazing and the dough is so perfectly fluffy. Slices of pizza were great too. Added bonus, the owner gave us half off our order because my husband is a first responder. Will definitely order again the next time we are in Chicago.

Pizza done right finally. I've loved in Chicago for 5 years now and there is so much awful pizza (bad crust, bad cheese) that its hard to want to try new joints, however, once in a while you find a gem. Tonight I ordered from Pizzaco's Italian Eatery and was blown away. Amazing crust, cheese and toppings. NY style as its described. The garlic knot loaf was also amazing. It showed up before intended by grub hub and was super hot. I actually has to let it sit. I will order again as this stuff is amazing.
