The Duck Confit Crepe is outstanding. I normally do not like French places, but this is the exception. The night time "ordering the menu" is also flexible enough to handle food allergies but well balanced. I highly recommend this place and frequently take both coworkers and clients here. When things are extraordinarily busy the service can get behind and they occasionally run out of things that you wouldn't think they'd let run low.

Had a TERRIBLE experience with this restaurant. Well first, the food was very good, although they were out of half the things printed on the menu that night, which limited their few options to even fewer. And the waitress, when asked if the fish was mercury free by my wife, actually said "Oh no, none of our fish are treated with mercury." ! Well thank goodness! Now please sit down before you hurt yourself. Other than that the service was ok.

But then the bill came. It was expensive, but we knew that going in, and this was a special treat for us. We had two full dinners and drinks, so i paid the high bill and we went home. Later on I realized they had charged us double! $195 for what should have been about an $85 bill! I was outraged, and I wanted my money back.

What followed was an excruciating, months-long process of me calling and emailing several times before getting anyone, and then promises to take care of it, then more phone calls and emails. The person I was forced to deal with was named Stewart, who told me he was the assistant manager. I was never able to get anyone else. It took 3 months before they finally sent me a check for the difference, and it was a painful process. He never really apologized for any of it, by the way, which bothered me most of all.

Stewart also sent me a $50 gift certificate though, which I thought was decent after everything that happened. Of course the gift certificate was dated to expire two weeks after I received it, so yet another insult.

Screw you, Rue Cler.

I like the food (not love, but like) love the bakery and the decor, but the service today was horrible! Today I was sat with my wife. I wasn't wearing my suit as I took the day off, and I was treated like a bum. I was ignored at first by a portly fellow who took 12 minutes to bring me my drink. We had to order from another waiter. Our side dishes came out after our main, and we didn't get the delicious bread that we love untill after the sides came.
When ever we tried to get attention to ask for something, they wouldn't let us finish. I wanted to tell them everything all at once to save time, but when I got one thing out of my mouth they would rush off and not listen...
In this respect, it reminded me of being an American Tourist in France... so if you like wierd, off, or just inadequate service, but really good bread and decent food (except the fires, don't bother) then check it out. I know I'll still be back at some point.
