Best BBQ I've ever had! And the best hush puppies in the world! Very fast and accurate service. Definitely the place the locals go. The place was packed! Will definitely come again if ever traveling through NC.

I have been here several times because of different groups of people, but I do not like the Q Shack. The sides are pretty good, but their BBQ is below average and their sauce has a bitter flavor. I hope to never return here.

Having had legitimate Texas brisket in the past I found this to be dry, badly in need of sauce, and improperly sliced to top it off. When you put pictures of Texas all over the walls you just can't have crappy brisket. The sides were extremely average and the meal overall was overpriced. I'm confused by the high ratings. Maybe it is due to it being in Durham--not exactly a lot of other decent options here. If this place was in Austin it would go out of business in a month.

The food just doesn't live up to the hype. I really wanted to try Carolina BBQ while my family was in town and this was one of the top rated places in Durham so I went with my wife. The brisket sandwich was dry, hush puppies were tough, and the mac and cheese was terrible. Don't even think about a burger as they are like frozen patties and cooked to a "chewy, well done" consistency. The only semi-redeeming item was the cole slaw and it wasn't even that good. Oh, and good luck finding any parking at all! Save your money and go somewhere else for good BBQ.

We were here with a client discussing their Internet presence last week. The BBQ is awesome. This is a fantastic place to get BBQ in Durham. Great atmosphere, fast staff, excellent food, what else could you want from a BBQ Shack?! They even have live music. If you are looking for BBQ or brisket or amazing sides served up with a beer or a sweat tea this is your place.
