My fish and chips left much to be desired. Granted, this isn't necessarily the place you go for fish and chips, but my date was similarly unimpressed with her shellfish. How is that even possible? Perhaps we came on an off day.

Visiting from out of town for a funeral. We had 17 in party and were told we could not be accommodated until 4 hours later , 8pm (understandable ). When we returned with our very hungry group we were told it would be another 30 to 60 minutes or we could be seated down stairs. We agreed to go downstairs then were denied that option. Then we were offered 2 tables which would be ready shortly . Meaning 8 people can be seated shortly and the rest as a table becomes available. Here we were, 17 out of towners with no place to eat. Thanks to some locals we found a different restaurant.

This was just what we were looking for when we visited DC area from California. The atmosphere is tavern, the crabs were large and sweet. It took two hours to eat 1 dozen. The crab cakes were all crab, no bready filler. I think it was a bit expensive but it isn't something you do every day. Happy hour 3-6 pm great deals on drinks.

Just had dinner here.

Service was good. If you're a local or a regular, service would be great.

Price was very reasonable...better than the other seafood choices within a 10 mile radius.

Ordered the Chesapeake Crab soup first. Nothing stellar. Tomato based vegetable soup with a little crab meat.

Main course - Dungeness Crab. Served with fries and coleslaw. Fries were good. Slaw was bad...cabbage over soaked in vinegar. Crab was overcooked (tough and dry), and there was way too much Chesapeake seasoning on it. Dungeness crab does not need any seasoning. Steam it for 7 minutes and serve with drawn butter. That's it.

Overall - I like this place and I will return. Next time though, I am going to ask for no Chesapeake seasoning on my crab, and I will need a substitute for the coleslaw.

Great crabs!!
Ordered a dozen and to my surprise couldn't finish them all.. Must say, wasn't expecting such greatly flavored crabs, in addition they were fresh and superbly cooked to order..
Staff was somewhat friendly, however as a black man I felt a bit uncomfortable and dismissed upon entering the establishment, as if I was in the wrong place. The waiter who seated me wasn't friendly, it appeared to pain him to seat me placing me at a table under the restaurant's direct heater, which was very uncomfortable. At my request he moved me to the bar, had not it been for the friendly and accommodating bartender, I would have walked out.. I'm extremely happy I stayed, the food experience was the best I've had in years..
With such an excellent product, it's imperative and my hope that customer service becomes equal.
Thanks,
Mr. AD Strick
