With "breathtaking" balcony views of City Park oaks "dripping with moss", Ralph Brennan's "elegant" Mid-City Contemporary Louisiana spot provides a "romantic" backdrop for enjoying "high-quality" fare from a "dependable kitchen"; though pricey, it's "the perfect place to celebrate", making anything from "company functions" to "after-work" drinks from the "cool bar" a "memorable experience."

It is a damn shame that manager Johnathan is such a rude manager to the employees. It made my experience hard to enjoy.

Sat in the bar area and had a few appetizers and a Mussels special. Food was delicious and Roland our server was attentive, professional and made us feel special. Wine and cocktail selection was pleasing and very tasty. 5 Star experience.

I just came from dinner at Ralph's on the Park, and it was the worst meal I've ever had at a fine dining restaurant in New Orleans. Monumentally bad. We eat at Ralph's 6-8 times a year, especially for special events like birthdays, and it will be a long time, if ever, before we return. Check the menu before you go. At least 2/3s of the menu contained ingredients you've never heard of (and probably won't like), and there were no traditional items that you might have expected, other than the turtle soup. If you like fish, they had drum "in a broth." Do you like your sauteed fish in a broth?

The City Park salad, which either my husband or I order every time we go, wasn't the usual Romaine lettuce with some blue cheese crumbles, spiced pecans and a few sliced apples. Instead, the blue cheese, pecans and apples were mixed together with too much dressing and ladled on top of a few lettuce leaves. We sent it back.

At least they had a special soft shell crab dish which sounded delicious, but they were out of it when we placed our order at 7:30. We joked that it was probably gone because everyone ordered it due to the fact that nothing else on the menu was remotely recognizable, or appetizing.

There were 5 of us, and we really struggled to find something on the menu to eat. If it hadn't been so complicated to find another restaurant to seat 5 of us at 7:30 p.m., we would have gotten up and left to find a restaurant where we would enjoy what we were going to order for dinner.

I can't tell you how disappointed we were, and embarrassed that we had suggested it for a birthday celebration.

Well crafted food. Rather fussy (escargot in milk soup anyone?) and priced to dismay. Bar tables were too noisy to enjoy our guests. Not a place for quiet enjoyment of gourmet dinner, but otherwise a solid choice if you like fine dining.
