06/27/2014 9:30 pmMy dad and I went there last week to try it out and it was delicious. Great quick service that was always checking up on us and seeing how we were doing. The tomato briquette was very good. I recommend the Bayou Shrimp. Will go again when I am back in Wichita! |

05/19/2014 2:30 pmWe've always had great food and service. Don't take the bad reviews you see here seriously. They may have had bad service on one visit, but I can't believe anyone would complain about the flavor. And judging by the crowds there at dinner time, I'd say there are a lot of folks who agree with how good the food is. |

04/18/2014 4:44 pmMy family and mother went out to dinner here on a saturday night. When we arrived the hostess was no where to be found, we stood up front for 10 minutes waiting. Then she comes running up, like she was playing and said...ooooohhh, can i help you!!.We loved our waiter Jesse, he was new. He was very friendly and cared about our experience. Our food was terrible. It was cold when it came out. The rice and beans were not even warm. The appetizer of corn fritters were not hot and were not fresh. The firecracker chicken and shrimp was not even warm and did not even have any shrimp in it!! I beleive they just keep the food ready and warm it up when someone orders. None of the food was fresh. My son ordered crawfish and they were good and the manager came out to show him how to eat them, that was the only good part of our experience. We complained and had to send the other plates back to be reheated. The manager Jon Phillips brought the plate back out to my mom and just sat it on the table and walked away!! No apology, he did not care, no conversation about this at all!! I was so shocked and dissapointed. Then after dinner we thought we would tell the waiter about the food being cold...etc. so he would be aware. This could affect his tips and livlihood! Some people do not speak up and will not leave a tip because of this and they never come back. So Jesse our waiter said, would you like to talk to my manager, we said yes. We saw Jesse tell him and the manager ran to the back like he was scared. It took him 10 minutes to finally come talk to us. He came up to the table and said did you need something. We told him about our great waiter and then told him about our dissapointment in the food and how it was all cold. He just stood there looking at us and then said, is there anything else you need? I was absolutely in shock! He DID NOT care! He did not engage or say anything to make us feel better. We will not be returning. We did leave Jesse a 20% tip because he was great and he was new and it is not fair to him that the manager and cooks are not doing their job. When we left the manager Jon and some other staff including the hostess were just leaning against the hostess ledge chatting and laughing. They did not even acknowledge us when we left! I can not believe that this is the way this manager runs this business. Red Beans has so much potential and if anyone wonders why they losing more and more customers it is because of the manager not caring! There are so many other restaurants in town that have excellent customer service as well as great hot food, we will be taking our business to these places! |

11/17/2013 1:18 amThe service wasn't great and the food was TERRIBLE. We went on a Friday night at 7 and it was dead. I expected very flavorful food since it was supposed to be Cajun. I've had TV dinners that were better. I ordered chicken bites in a butter cream sauce that didn't taste like anything. The red beans and rice were watery and poorly seasoned. It came with a tomato bisque that was disgusting. I didn't even finish it. Everything was so salty that I had to go to Freddy's to get custard so I could get the taste out of my mouth. |

11/06/2013 2:38 pmFresh and delicious food! Our waitress Rachel was great! The menu selection was southern based so it had a lot of fried items which I'm not usually a fan of, but their corn fritters were addicting. |
