"Not nearly as hectic" as the usual dim sum specialists, this "contemporary" Little Italy Chinese dispenses "high-quality" tidbits that are "made to order" and served by a "competent" crew with "no carts" in sight; despite the "lounge"-like setting, prices remain egg-ceptably "low."

My favorite chinese place in NYC! Loved the veggie dim sums and spring rolls. Great service, very clean and unlike the crappy china town places.

The service here was excellent, for Chinatown. The restaurant feels clean and the staff is very courteous. We even got pseudo sommelier treatment and had a good chuckle about how the chinese menu items had suggested wine pairings.

Dimsum wise the menu is limited and you order off a golf card not off a piping hot rolling cart. But its tasty! The taro pork and cilantro dumpling was a favorite. The red egg crispy roll was really interesting too, filled with rou4 song1 (flossy preserved pork).

We tried two desserts. The steamed egg white was like an egg white custard with candied ginger flavoring. It was very good and worth trying, but the hint of sulfury egg white flavor that remained is enough to keep me from craving it or seeking it out a second time.

The other dessert is a dimsum classic, liu2 sha1 bao1, hard to find stateside. Its listed as "sweet cream bun" but the name translated is literally "quicksand bun" since the egg yolk filling gives the sweet dessert a nice complementing salty grit.

Now, where this restaurant earns a fourth star is it is the perfect place to introduce your non Asian friends to dim sum, which is exactly what we did with a white guy visiting from the rural midwest. Itd also be ideal as a quiet place to conduct a meeting over "Asian tapas" without having to apologize for nasty bathrooms and rude waitstaff. But, expect these upgrades to be reflected in the prices.

Great food. Best wonton soup ever. General tsos shrimp and chicken was excellent! Beef fried rice to feed an army. Also tried the pork and shrimp dumplings.. my mouth is still watering from them.

The gentlemen who sat us wasnt so polite, and rushed us to order. Decor felt like a 70's 80's scarface movie which some could say a little tacky but I didn't mind. Other than that well recommended

Anyone whom refers to this restaurant as "good" has never eaten dim sum. The quality is poor and food is heavily fried and full of fat to cover the poor quality. I am an American whom has been loving dim sum for over 30 years. This was not even close. Seems to be catering to small bar scene at happy hour and over priced dim sum which is half off limited and frankly odd. My son took me here thinking from reviews it would be great sadly the only thing great was spending time with me son. I got ill when I returned home after meal. Go elsewhere where the population is chinese and cartes are scene . This idea that made to serve is fresher is crazy. the limited few items are not characteristic of dim sum , please don't use this restaurant experence as dim sun find another place for this wonderful meal not Red Egg.

I came here with my gf and met up with my 2 friends. I'm not sure if my gf ever had dim sum before.

We ordered the chicken feet, shrimp dumpling, pork dumpling, and we shared the peking duck.

I am used to the traditional old chicken feet where the cartilage melts away. RE's version is freshly made per order so the nostalgia was not there for me. When the peking duck came out the guy only sliced away the breast meat. There was plenty of duck left over that my friend could have gnawed at. But, to her point. For that price we'd expect more duck for the buck.
