Rendezvous Charles Vergos, Memphis, Tennessee Restaurant Details

Food:

Wow!!! First off, the servers were very short with us. Which is fine sure. They got our orders correct, and brought the food out within about...ten minutes. Two full racks of ribs, a brisket, and BBQ sandwich with two appetizers. My friend & I whom got the rib plates ate it and the meat was tough and wasn't 100% hot temperature wise. As SOON as we left I got very sick. I threw up out the car window within five minutes. I've been sick for the last three days and my friend who got the ribs with me has been as well. This is a colossal disappointment that a restaurant this important to Memphis has gone this far downhill. I highly recommend staying away, just go to Texas De Brazil which is right beside it!

This place had so many good reviews, I had to Visit upon my stay in Memphis. However, Me and my family were very disappointed, The food was cold & Horrible,..I ordered the pull pork sandwich, my husband ordered Ribs & Brisket..I refused to eat my sandwich..The baked beans were ok...The Ribs & Brisket taste old...I don't know if the cooks were focused on the 2 Warriors Players that were in the Restaurant in hoodies (Curry/Harrison Barnes), The 5K Grit, Grind, Run or The FOOD.....There must have been a disconnect somewhere..My son said his chicken sandwich was good, the restaurant was clean, the waitress was really polite and nice, and I got the opportunity to see 2 NBA stars, that's the only reason I rate this place a 2-star...Very Very disappointed Customer....

Someone says they have limited options here. Maybe barbecue salmon might be good. They have enough to stay open 60+ years. I now live in Jacksonville, Fl. Lived in Memphis 40 years and last 15 years wish The Rendezvous would move a location to Jacksonville and show em what real ribs taste like. Hold that mustard sauce, thank you!

I adore this restaurant, it serves what I consider the best dry rub I have ever tasted, as well as one of the best juicy ribs as well. The service is also very good. The reason this cannot receive a 5 star is because it takes a fairly long time to be seated and has very limited options outside of ribs.

Food:

While expensive, this place has melt in your mouth brisket, great ribs, and really good 'slaw. Food also comes out FAST, my table of 5 was served within 5-10 minutes! The atmosphere is also very interesting with eclectic decorations covering every Inc of the walls. Can't recommend enough!
