04/18/2015 4:46 pmMaybe a bad day/too busy Friday evening, but had higher expectations than what was delivered. Ceviche was so and so and served with warm plates (straight out of the dishwasher?). Wanted at least some spiciness to the chille relleno. Great margarita. Servers were friendly. |

08/08/2013 11:43 pmThe food is so fresh here. We've never had a bad meal. One of my favorite things here is Budin corn and zucchini pudding. |

07/25/2013 5:08 pmGreat cocktails, Nice atmosphere. Very popular so it gets noisy. If that's a problem sit out in the patio, which is very nice. This is upscale Mexican so you won't find burritos on the menu. The food is interesting. |

06/16/2012 12:40 amMy favorites: carnitas, ceviche, and refried beans. I wish they'd bring back the refried navy bean dish they used to do with pork lard. Great drinks too. |
Food:
08/27/2010 3:04 pmA mexican place trying to be gourmet. They just don't quite make it good or unique enough to justify their pricing. More like eating average mexican food from fancy plates with mid-high end service. Don't see the return on the investment after a few visits. |

10/13/2015 10:18 amAn emphasis on "fresh, seasonal ingredients" and some "modern twists" add up to "flavorful", "well-prepared" Mexican plates at this Oakland "institution" where "friendly" (if "slow") staffers also offer up "tasty drinks"; sure, it gets "a bit crowded and noisy", but most agree it's worth the decibels and recommend "eating outside if the weather is nice." |
