Our party of 11 met a Rey's for a post-Christmas holiday dinner. None of us had ever dined there. From start to finish the fare and service were excellent. We were seated in a private room at no extra expense. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. All the entrees come without sides, but diners have the options of ordering sides in 'family serving' portions that feed 2-3 people. We had lump crab, tomato and onion salad, the huge wedge salad, and Caesar salad as appetizers, and shared garlic mashed potatoes, au gratin potatoes, sautéed spinach, mushrooms, and green beans in family servings. Most of us ordered steaks. My 8 oz. filet was succulent, tender and perfectly seasoned, and others in our group enjoyed their steaks too. We had bananas foster (a house speciality) and chocolate raspberry cake for dessert - both wonderful! The bananas foster dish is made at table side and is a real show. Rey's was a winning choice and gave us a memorable and pleasurable dining experience.

My wife and I recently went to Rey's for our Anniversary. We had a reservation at 7:00pm. We arrived promptly at 7pm and Rey told us that we would have to wait 5-10 minutes in the bar. 25 minutes later, someone came and got us.

Got to go with Sienfield quote on this one. "See, you know how to take the reservation, you just don’t know how to *hold* the reservation and that’s really the most important part of the reservation, the holding. Anybody can just take them." - Jerry Seinfeld

Ok we got past the having to wait 25 minutes with a reservation and we were seated.

The ambiance is a little loud, but tolerable. Most everyone in the restaurant was well dressed.

We ordered some scallops as an appetizer. (Really well prepared) I ordered the special "22 ounce bone-in Ribeye" and got it Oscared(with crab, asparagus and hollandaise sauce). I forgot to tell the waiter how I wanted my steak prepared, but he just requested it medium-rare(just the way I like it). My wife got the blackened Tuna steak(it was really big). We ordered some asparagus for a side dish.(that was really good also)

The two main entrées were really excellent. Steak was tender and my wife's blackened tuna steak with pineapple salsa was really tasty. We finished the meal with some French press coffee and bread pudding. The bread putting was ok, but nothing to write home about. There was a fruit flambé with ice cream that Rey was cooking table-side. That looked really good. You should try it.

The bill was $129. The food was totally worth the price of admission. I would definitely go back, but if I make a reservation and they don't keep it, they could lose me as a patron.

Just got back from Rey's moments ago, and it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences of my adult life. First off, the food portions are tiny. By itself, this alone isn't damning, but once you actually taste it, it's a whole different sorry. My food was bland at best. My girlfriend's dish, the chicken, was decent, but was about the same quality as you would expect from Chilis or Applebees. Our side dishes and desserts were, again, disappointing.

This is the sort of places that thinks they are high end just because they buy a little cheesey decor and dim the light. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money.

Great place, my wife and I went to eat dinner for her birthday and it had a great service. Fish (Salmon) was delicious. My wife got a free desert for her birthday. The owner stopped by and asked how was everything. I would recommend it.
