Rice Bowl, Anchorage, Alaska Restaurant Details

Food:

Went here this last Wednesday. Great Chinese food. Had egg foo young and almond chicken, both great. Haven't tried a steak yet but will at some point. We are looking forward to trying some of their other Chinese dishes. Staff was very nice and very friendly. One waitress was a little hard to understand but she is Chinese and speaks with an accent. Great place.

great food, big portions, not unreasonable prices. waitress hardly spoke any english which made questions and ordering difficult but was nice in spite of that. I would go again

I had an awesome service there, little on the pricey side but everything was cooked to the precision and waiters were friendly and kept coming by to see if we needed anything. Decor was bit on old side, but much better then asian garden on old seward. Keep doing your best guys.

Best steak in town. Yes I know, how that sounds. From the moment you walk in, the smell of 22 oz porterhouses fill the room. Also love the bread.

Took the family and was shown to a seat by someone who would be better served working in a mortuary rather than in customer service sour face and downright unfriendly and this of course set the scene for the entire nasty experience. As normal in Anchorage I was told that this place had great food there was good Chinese cuisine on offer. I had chicken curry which was one of the worst tasting curries that I have had the misfortune to eat it was unseasoned tasteless and bland just curry powder with a very small amount of chicken and copious amounts of bell peppers which of course are not part of a curried dish. My wife had Chicken Chow Mein and it was awful, chicken with fatty skin still attached bland flavor and downright unpalatable. I would suggest that people who write reviews on Chinese cuisine should have at least tasted proper Chinese cuisine which the Rice Bowl is not serving. I have no idea where these people have eaten but if they think that this food is great then they obviously have no clue. Would not ever visit this establishment again.
