Did a pick up order for lunch. Had the grilled (blackened) shrimp large order.

How can anyone manage to make blackened shrimp taste bland? I don't know, but these guys have figured it out. Cole slaw side was also incredibly bland. Hush puppy sticks almost made up for it, but considering the $17 price tag, it just wasn't enough.

Would not recommend.

Food:

The Food - i had the gumbo to start and the catfish as an entree. The gumbo was surprisingly good. Full of meat and flavor, unlike others who try to skimp on the meat and overload with rice. The catfish was really good also. A little over-cooked but still extremely tasty with a good crunch. The batter wasn't overly seasoned, but as i said, very crisp and yummy and the fish wasn't OVERLY catfishy (if you know what i mean).

Decor - i decided to choose very good for the decor because i sat at the bar and there was TONS of little signs full or jokes and witty remarks. i enjoyed finding all the little treasures posted all behind the bar.

Service - This should probably be Excellent. In fairness it was the lunch rush and the two waitresses (southern, friendly, pleasant to look at) were busting their humps to try and take care of everyone and doing a darn good job. :) i tipped 30% and felt i should've left more they were working so hard.

Overall - Good food, big portions, small prices. :D i look forward to checking out their happy hour

Let me tell ya I have been eating catfish for a long time, from a lot of different places but the catfish at the River Bottom Cafe is the BEST I HAVE EVER HAD SO FAR!!!!! The service was full of friendliness! It's a place you must visit to have a great expierince with catfish and not to mention the coleslaw remarkable! (:

This is a great place to eat, if you are looking for good catfish. They fix it with a great cornmeal mix that is not too heavy.

The waitresses also make for great scenery.
