Rosemary's Family Creamery, Bakersfield, California Restaurant Details

Food:

Family-run ice cream parlor. Really a nice and comfortable place to eat. One of the better places you'll ever find for quality ice cream. Huge proportions. Also very good sandwiches and soups. Have eaten here many times. Always excellent. Service is good. People have always been pleasant. Have never been treated rudely nor have I witnessed others being treated rudely. This shop and Dewar's have been the best places for ice cream in bakersfield for years. My preferences is Rosemary's as I think the ice cream is a little better, as is the service.

Nobody on here knows what they're talking about. Rosemary's is Bakersfield's best asset. It's really the only thing I like about Bakersfield. Great ice cream and the service is fine.

It's Rosemary's! If you grew up in Bako, you love it. Unless you're a Dewar's person, then you're just strange.

This is your prototypical 50s style ice cream shoppe (note the extra p and e denoting that olden times).

You're going to go here, you're going to get your thimble of water and then order a sundae that's going to take you back to when you were a kid.

They're all fantastic and exactly what you want them to be.

At Rosemary's, they're not going to try to recreate anything or do anything ridiculous, they're giving you good, simple ice cream.

Really, do you need anything more?

I bought a scoop of ice cream for my daughter and a tub for home and when they gave me the price i nearly had a heart attack... IT WAS SO EXPENSIVE!!!! and the ice cream was not even good and the lady that attended me was practically throwing my change at me.

I am so disappointed with the customer service or LACK of customer service I just received this morning. A co-workers birthday gift was left at home and I was tasked with going to get her something "quick". I thought of Rosemary's for a gift certificate, so between meetings (10:25) I went. When I got there it was closed so I knocked and the women behind the counter looked directly at me and then turned her head and continued to fill the tea container. Thank you to the young man (bus boy) who saw me standing there continuing to knock and open the door. When I explaned the situation he said he will ask the owner (the women behind the counter), who I heard say "I don't do ANYTHING before 11am". Needless to say I took my $25 cash and went across the street to the Village Grill who happily accepted my business.
Shame on You for thinking just because you have been in business for a long time that you have no NEED for customer service.
