My favorite local bar in NY. Try to beat my basketball shot record - 81.

Food:

Decent selection of beer. Poor selection of food. The food we did order felt overpriced for the portion, but the flavor tasted off as well.

Decent atmosphere and the service was ok. I got the feeling they didn't appreciate the group size (8ish). Not somewhere I would choose to go.

Food:

This isn't a fancy restaurant but it is good at what it does. It is homey and casual and they even manage to achieve some of the feel of an Irish or English pub. It is close by and we really enjoy it and frequently get takeout dinners there as well. It has a fun atmosphere. On the weekends they usually have live music, Celtic or folk or similar music.

I had never heard of a Boxty before going to Ryan's Daughter but it is one of my favorites there. It has chicken, feta, spinach, sauteed onions and more wrapped in an Irish potato pancake. There were other types of boxties on the menu but I don't see them anymore. I also very much like their Shephard's Pie. The Irish Stew and Cottage Pie are nice also but I mostly stick with the first two. My wife almost always gets the fish and chips which are excellent.

It is a fun place, and good if you just want to hang out and have a beer. In the bar they have different games on the TVs.

Almost didn't go here because of some of the bad reviews I read. Tried it anyway...and happy I did. Friendly manager, friendly staff. Nice comfortable place. Fish & Chips was best I have had in a long time. Pleasantly surprised.

Food:

the crab cake was all filler and the french fries were cold. with the prices you'd expect the selection to be much better. will never return after a second bad experience.
