Saint Jacques, Raleigh, North Carolina Restaurant Details

Food:

First I will precise that this is based on a dinner from a year ago and that I am from Paris and my guest is British.
The setting was pleasant and the service was very good but the food was disappointing. It was was a good American food dressed up as French.
It was also a Birthday treat for my guest and this is why I have not return since. We were both disappointed.

Great french food, loved the service and atmosphere and reasonable prices. A must in Raleigh

One of the best meals of my life! If you eat at only 1 fancy place this year, make it Saint Jacques. The staff is fully trained in what fine dinning was and should still be. Forget dinner at some new "restaurant of the week" downtown, eat here instead! I guarantee that this is better than any overpriced, ridiculously plated restaurant with arrogant waiters that are too cool for their own reflection. After eating here I was mad at myself for going to all these, so called "hot spots" for years and thinking that the food was good...you eat a place like this and you realize that all that other stuff was sub par at best. Try the frog's legs for a starter and whatever else you pick can't be wrong...it's all perfect. I didn't care about taking photos and posting them because I was actually lost in the moment, enjoying the company,the atmosphere, the wine and the food with no desire to be anywhere else. Seriously it is that amazing. GO!

Food:

If you're interested in French fine dining, this is the only place in the triangle to go. No wait, seriously it is. The only option. Did you mistake that for hyperbole? There actually aren't any other fine dining French places in the triangle. As for quality, you really don't have to take my word for it as this restaurant is rated #1 of over 1200 on TripAdvisor and is rated 4.8 on Google Reviews. The service, wine list, and food here are all excellent. I let the sommelier choose wine pairings for my food. He knows both his wines and the menu extremely well so I would recommend you do the same. Overall we've had a great experience here both times, and I can't wait to go back!

We went to St. Jacques for my fiance's birthday dinner. From the outside you wouldn't think it's a nice place, but they've worked hard to create a nice interior and it works. They have a nice romantic atmosphere and they provide professional and courteous service. Besides that, the food is amazing. It's dumb. I had things there that I've never tasted anywhere. I will go back but only for special occasions because it's too good for my daily routine and I wanna save this place for special days. Very reasonably priced for the quality too. I never give reviews. .. but I had to for you Saint Jacques. Thank you!
