Giving 4 stars because every other time I've ever been here the food was excellent! This time we ordered the cheapest steaks on the menu and they were average. The wait staff was excellent though! I love this restaurant and recommend it, but only if your willing to buy the more expensive cuts of meat. Good sweet tea :-D

Husband and I decided to try a new steak place out last Saturday night so decided on Saltgrass based on the reviews. The place was packed and we were told the wait time was going to be 40 minutes, but luckily it was only 20 minutes. The waitress came by and took out drink order and asked if we wanted apps, but by the time she got to us we had already reviewed the menu and selected what we wanted and was ready to order. Waitress honestly seemed like she was high because the way she was talking and how long it took her to come back with drinks. First tried to push an appetizer then pushed for my husband to get a topping on his steak and potato which he already stated he didn't want. We received our drinks, bread, and salad at the same time, oh wait, no, my husband hadn't received his beer until 1/2 way through our salads. We also asked for more bread and the waitress decided to take what we hadn't yet eaten as well as cleared the bread plates which made no sense. Husbands dinner salad was good, but mine was gross. I got a caesar salad and the lettuce was wilted and soft, was overdressed, and barely room temperature. It tasted like the salad was pre-made and sitting in the back being scooped onto room temperature plates because my croutons were mushy. My husband likes to eat some of his salad with his meal and people kept trying to clear plates we weren't done with as if they were running out. Then came the entrees which took a little longer then hoped. Husband ordered T-Bone and I order Maudeen's Filet Oscar. Husband's steak looked dry as if it was sitting under a heat lamp for a while, but was the correct cook. I was disappointed in the amount of crab on my steak as there was 6 pieces. Menu states is it drizzled with lemon butter, but it was covered making my asparagus no longer crispy and tasted more like a really tangy béarnaise. The 6 oz center cut filet costs $23.99 and the Oscar option brought the price up to $30.99. With the $7 hike I was expecting a lot more crab then what I received. The steak however, was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious! Tried my husband's steak and it had a very weird taste to it.. Not sure if yall brine your steaks, but it was nasty to me and if it were my steak I would have sent it back, but my husband is less picky and ate it. We finished our meal and staked our plates then waited for the waitress to come back. She came back and we asked for the check and she then proceeded to ask if we wanted any desert, we said no just the check, she then asked if we wanted coffee which we again said no, just the check. Really annoying to have someone trying to upcharge everything just in increase the bill. Another factor I'd like to point out was how tight the seating was. We were crammed in a small area with 20 tables total and the staff had to literally squeeze through customers to get to the tables in the middle. Overall- Not thrilled and won't be going back for a variety of reasons that include price, waay more expensive then steakhouses on I-20, the staff seemed disengaged and no one smiled, and being packed in like sardines.

Honestly... They have some of the best steaks. The Pat's Ribeye is excellent. Great menu as well. My wife and I try something new with each visit. Definitely a great place to eat. Get there early, before 5pm to avoid a long wait.

Went to an event at the AT&T stadium and decided to eat here! Omg! What a joke!!! We all ordered the house Sirloins and we received a plate with 2 strips of meat that look like it was cut from a roast!! I'm sure the very disappointed look on my face said it all!! And to top It off the edge was all fat!! I will NEVER eat here again!!!!
