I read the reviews and thought I'd give it a try since it is close to where I worked. They have a limited menu which is fine...I found the prices a little bit high for what I got. Had to pay .66 for a pickle slice. I got the Turkey and Cheeze...I got a small sandwich which is still kind of big...plenty for me. I thought it was a little light on the meat for the price ($6.37). The bread...while it was nice that it was "homemade" was falling apart in my hands making consumption at my desk a pretty sloppy endeavor. The sandwich was warmed which is always nice....would I return...probably not but possibly. In one review someone mentioned Schlotzky's...given the choice of The Sandwich Garden and Schlotzky's I would choose Schlotzky's....Was it horrible...no....it is worth a try...just wasn't my thing...They do have free WIFI so that is a definite positive.

I was here again this last week and I've been coming since the early '80s. This place has consistently made great sandwiches over the decades.

My recommendation is a small Garden Special, extra meat, no mayo.

Other reviewers complain about the decor and service. Yeah, they're not the best, but the sandwiches are.

I've been going to this place since I was a kid, and it's my absolute favorite sandwich shop in town. To give you a comparison you might be familiar with, the sandwiches are like Schlotzsky style if they became twice as good as they are and didn't use processed junk. The homemade batter bread is what makes us long-timers fall in love with it.

The sandwiches are HUGE and stuffed. I have a huge appetite for these sandwiches and usually I can't eat more than 2/3 of a large in one sitting, I almost always have some leftover for a snack later. The smalls are basically just a little larger than the average hamburger size. The bun on the large fills most of a plate. The special was what I used to eat all the time (very good) and then moved onto the veggie with cheese and jalapenos.

Yum yum yum. Don't let the outside of this place fool you. The kitchen is clean, the food all made fresh on site, and the owner shops the local farmers markets for the produce. Definitely delicious.
