I been here before with my youth director I love the food and the service they are nice , fast it's nicely decorated wooo I'm coming here again it's worth it!!!!!

Food:

College bar serving great bar food with long list of beers and cocktails. Staff is friendly and always willing to help. Diverse food menu with large portions for a good price. Offers dine in, delivery, and carry out. Good for watching sporting events (lots of TVs). Usually busy anytime after 5 PM. Also very busy Sunday afternoons for brunch. Popular among locals and students.

I go to the Community Education Center on a weekly basis for an improv comedy rehearsal group, and have on a few occasions gone to Savas for some coffee. I never tried their food until recently, and have sometimes found their waitresses (always female) to be a little standoffish.

On 1/29/12 I decided to go in for pre-improv dinner at around 6PM and was pleasantly surprised. My waitress Kaitiln was SUPER. Great personality, very attentive despite me being only one person. Everything was exactly as ordered and came out quickly. She was also very honest when helping me decide what to order, something I respect and which makes me want to be a repeat customer.

I had the Chicken Gyro platter which comes with a side of rice pilaf, and a side of fries. The fries left me underwhelmed; they could have easily been out of a bag though I was told they are fresh cut. The gyro itself was fantastic, with fresh onion and tomato and the perfect spices on the chicken. It was kind of dripping in tzatziki which was no big deal as I scraped the extra off. (It also came with a huge side of it, though, which went to waste.) It was also weird that they put french fries IN the gyro, but they were right on top so again I just pulled them off.

Sadly the rice pilaf was absolutely flavorless and a real let down. It may be a common dish but I hadn't actually had it in ages, so I was disappointed.

That being said, the gyro itself made the meal and the price was right. $9.25 for the platter, $1.38 for a bottled iced tea and $2.95 for the fries left my bill at $14.67 with tax. I left a $20 because I want Kaitlin to know that good service like hers for a table of one will be met with a tip worthy of a table of 3.

The place looks very Modern
Food portions are Large compared to prices.

The Bad.
Salads are horrible here...I mean always. In the four years I have been coming to this place I am yet to find a good salad. Usually the greens are soft and almost rotting with rotted peaces mixed in.
SLOOOOW service if you are dining in. Usually you might see the server twice....Forget about a drink refill or getting another beer unless you want to wait an hour or so.
MOST of the time the bar service itself is good, but on a couple occasions I have sat at the bar and the bartender herself was so drunk she couldn't even make a simple Jager bomb. We got a can of red bull and a pint of Guiness instead.
Lastly don't order anything that needs to be fried except French Fries because it will come back BURNT.

All and all
Its a great place if you want to buy a 6 pack and a slice to go. But don't do much more than that or you might be disappointed.
