Always had positive outcomes everytime I come here. They give me plenty of portions. Love their food and great service.

By far the worst the worst service you'll ever have at a restaurant. We've been there 4 times and it's consistently terrible. The food is good but not worth the irritation.

Before I begin this review, I want to express the fact that I am extremely easy to please. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt, especially in the food industry. I understand the challenges that servers face with rude customers. I myself have been in that situation. So for me to write a review like this means that I was brought to a boiling point. This is not just a rant.

The last two times I went to Sea40 have been awful. The first time, I got sick with food poisoning as did a friend I went with. After that, I could not bring myself to eat there again for close to two years.

The second time, my Father and Mother drove an hours drive to eat at the hibachi. It was my Father's 70th birthday and we wanted to do something fun for him. Unfortunately, we waited at the hibachi for an hour (or more) while all the others around us got served. Including three groups that came after us. Our waitress was rude and inattentive. Several times she walked off before we completed our orders. She refused to take the time to answer our questions and was annoyed that we did not understand the menu. She did not account for the fact that my parents had never eaten there before and her behavior was extremely demeaning.

She was also argumentative and her lack of customer service skills resulted in getting our orders wrong. I had ordered sushi and, again, she had little patience that I did not understand the menu. Lack of communication and listening to the customer's needs resulted in my ordering something I did not want. I hate to send back food, but in this case I had no choice since she brought me sushi with crab. I told her that I was allergic when I ordered and she acknowledge what I said, however, still brought me out crab sushi.

I waited for my soup and salad that I had ordered with my sushi and she came by after all were done at the table with their soup and salad and told me I was supposed to eat the hibachi soup and salad, although, it was neither what I paid for or ordered. My soup was so cold by then, I couldn't eat it. The flavors do not simmer well cold. It wasn't the end of the world not to eat it, since it actually wasn't the kind of soup I had ordered anyway. I never did get served what we paid for.

The sushi had little to no wasabi with it and the wasabi that was there seemed old and hard, almost like someone had spit it out on the plate. I was not given chop sticks. I was not given a little bowl for soy sauce. When the waitress finally did come over and I tried to explain that it was not what I ordered, she cut me off and said "yes it was" and walked off on me before I could finish. I wasn't trying to piss her off, I just wanted to get what we paid for. The sushi I ended up with was not great. It was chewy, hard to eat, and boring. Perhaps when they replaced the crab sushi they just grabbed some old rolls to replace? It was definitely far too quick of a return to have been made fresh.

At the end of the meal she went through the entire table and packaged up everyone's food, except for my party's. Really? I guess she assumed we didn't want our leftovers because we didn't get what we ordered. After everything else, I took this as a blatant insult.

Our hibachi chef did a good job, however, by the time he had come to our table we were really too famished and stressed to enjoy any of it. I actually felt bad for him. In my opinion we should have been refunded 100% for this meal. My poor Mother and Father who work hard for their money paid for all of this. The waitress was nice enough when she brought the bill to my Father, but when he tried to ask her a question about it, she walked off on him!! Happy birthday man. At least I wasn't the only one she did it to.

There is a bright side though...at least this time I didn't get food poisoning. My recommendation? If you want good sushi in the Lewiston/Auburn area, go to Jasmine Cafe. They do an incredible job there. Their sushi is fresh, has a great presentation, and well worth the money. Also, they have amazing service.

Avid Sushi lover. Some of the best Specialty Sushi Rolls I've ever had. Large portions compared to everywhere else and worth every penny
