09/15/2010 3:08 amI know my way around a kitchen, so I have pretty high expectation when I go to a restaurant and pay over $20 for an entree. I've had several bad experience lately at some finer dining places around town and was hesitant to try Sezmu for fear of another costly meal featuring poor service and mediocre food. But I like to support restaurants that use local ingredients, so we decided to give it a try for our anniversary dinner. I was pleasantly surprised. The service and ambiance is refined yet relaxed, the food was beautifully presented, fresh and seasoned to perfection. If you truly know what good food is and don't want to be disappointed by another fine dining experience, don't hesitate to try Sezmu. My only problem is figuring out a way to afford eating there three nights a week! |

02/05/2010 8:47 pmA truly unique place for Reno, this is what you'd expect in San Fran or LA. This is a charming, small restaurant, although the high ceilings make it seem larger. I believe there are only about 30 seats and several at the bar, and you can eat at the bar too, although I hate doing that unless I'm all alone, and even then, it's just sad, especially when the bartender doesn't talk to you. The decor is real trendy with a brick wall on one side contrasting with a modern stylish wall on the other. Huge windows that allow you to see the poor folk in the apartment across the street. The location is odd, but hey, it makes it special, like you only know about this hidden spot. I'm not sure how to categorize the food, American, International? They had veal, pasta, cod, chicken, steak. It is upscale so the price is around $20 to $35 for entree's. My date ordered soup, and they came out with two spoons with soup in both, and I swear I thought that was the soup, like high art cuisine stuff, but it wasn't, it was the amuse bouche, some palate stimulant like a pickle. |

03/04/2009 7:41 pmEvery single meal is delightful and new. Take a moment to get to know your server, see how excited they are to be working at such a great place. They know a lot more than you'd expect, about wine, their food, everything. You should take time to savor your meal. Thank goodness that you have a chance to spend a great evening with friends over incredible food. Thank goodness that someone cares enough to make every meal unique and wonderful. I am so grateful to have this restaurant so accessible to me and my husband. Keep up the great work! |
