This place is amazing. I feel like I'm stepping back in time the moment I walk through the doors. It's exactly what I picture in a sleepy southern town. The food is simple, good and the waitresses remember my order every time I visit. And I've only been a few times! If you're looking for a cute, quaint place for a lunch that's no fuss, this is your place.

We went their yesterday and I had a Hot Sicilian. It was one of the best sandwiches that I have ever eaten. It was served on soft sub bread. The ham, turkey, and provolone was well warmed/melted with tomato, coleslaw and thousand island dressing on the top. It was off the charts. My brother-in-law had Let's Horse Around roast beef/bacon sandwich and he made the comment that it may have been the best sandwich he had ever eaten. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other sandwiches.

Food:

Sidestreet is the most wonderful place for a pickup lunch or dinner in all of Raleigh. The food is always fresh. Service can be slow when it's busy but you can arrive and eat lunch within 60 minutes and not feel rushed.

The quiche is a favorite as well as the soups. The Hot Sicilian is heaven.

Very nice dining experience - white linen service for the price of Chick Fil A. Enjoyed the Humdinger sandwich and had a good catering experience as well.

I went here for the first time today even though I've lived in the neighborhood for over a year and I'm sad I hadn't checked it out sooner! Fresh, delicious sandwiches with an absolutely AWESOME staff. Having never been I didn't know it was cash only and didn't think to ask until after I ordered. I was $3 short and said I would change my order but they insisted on giving me what I ordered even though I was short! What a lovely gesture! I will definitely be back and with more cash this time!!
