06/06/2015 4:14 pmIgnore the negative reviews unless you have preconceived notions of what your ideal Indian meal should be. In the kitchen we have 1 Indian + 1 Nepalese creative mind. The results are very different than any Indian restaurant I've been to. The lunch special includes a chicken curry of your choice, several little veggie fritters, fluffy rice, curried cabbage, naan, red onion chutney, tamarind sauce, and all for around $10 bucks. I usually wash it down with sweetened mango juice. If I'm in a hurry, it's chicken sorba (soup), rice, delicious poori bread (you have to try), and mango juice. All of this is served with genuine kindness and incredible flavor! You'll get as much spice as you like, but if you ask for a 5 out of 5, be prepared for some serious heat! I can be in the worst mood in my life, but I always cheer up enjoying this wholesome comfort food. The environment is nothing special, really just a hole in the wall, tucked away from foot traffic, but I'd rather them skimp on lower rent, than compromise the excellent home cooking. My favorite restaurant! |

03/06/2015 9:35 pmWaste of your time. Much better Indian restaurants in Charlotte like Copper or Passage to India. I had the lamb curry. $15 for 4 little pieces of lamb in a boring curry. |

10/29/2013 9:59 pmExcellent food, I don't know what some of the other raters are talking about. Really great flavors and spices. It's not really hard to get to at all, once you know where it is. It's directly behind the Park Road Shopping Center - you even drive into the same parking lot to get there. |

04/03/2013 7:32 pmI moved to Charlotte from Southern California about 2 years ago. Finding good ethnic food here has been challenging. I went to get the meal to go because we had a movie we wanted to watch so we didn't get a full service meal but when we walked in we were shown to a seat and the waiter was very polite and kind. The food was ready and smelled amazing. We had Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Jalfreji, Chicken Vindaloo, side of poori and garlic naan. I am usually very dissapointed with vindaloo as it is never hot liek it should be. This was not the case. I ordered a 4 (1 - 5 scale) and I believe I got a 4. The food was all extremely good. it is not terribly expensive either for being as good as it was. The place does look a little outdated but heck I loved the food. We will be going back here without question. Absolutely fantastic Indian food. Just the way it is meant to be. |
