06/01/2016 12:30 am"Classic" is the word on this Rittenhouse Hotel location of the "upscale" chop chain that's "always a go-to" for "large, rich" steaks, a "terrific" wine list and "great views" of the park; "pricey" tabs are part of the package, as are staffers who "can't do enough for you", including "old-school" bartenders who can whip up "some of the best martinis in town." |

12/17/2014 9:24 pmLobster BLT for Lunch: I've been to Smith & Wollensky many times in other cities, and I stopped here for lunch with some work colleagues. I ordered the Lobster BLT which wasn't what I was expecting. The lobster was shredded and tossed in a mayonnaise sauce which neutralized the lobster flavor and made it difficult to tell I was eating lobster. The meat could have been artificial crab, or some other lesser seafood and I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. For $26 this was a very overpriced sandwich, I felt that I was paying for the name of the restaurant rather than the food I was eating. It would be hard to get me to go back here again, and if I do it will be for steak rather than the sandwich. |

12/26/2013 1:09 amBartenders are slow. Absolutely sucks. You can loo at the bartender in the eye and they dont even want to serve. They served my martini in a brandy glass. Didnt offer menus while sitting at the bar. Nothing. Not what i expected from a supposed top-notch restaurant. Hoping its just the bartender. |

12/13/2011 10:29 pmWant a great steak? This is a fine place to go. The steaks are dry aged and delicious, the serving sizes are large, and the desserts are to die for. Even you are just looking for a drink and a burger you can grab a seat at the bar. The bartenders are cool guys who know how to mix a drink. Overall if you are looking for good food in the Rittenhouse area check out Smith and Wollensky. You won't be let down. |
