I had a fantastic grilled trout dinner. The hushpuppies were to die for and the salad so fresh and crisp. The manager and staff were very welcoming and made wonderful recommendations. I strongly suggest giving this restaurant a try when visiting Gatlinburg.

After 13 hours in the car, my wife and I were ready for a nice meal. We chose the Trout House simply because it was located somewhat on the outskirts of the mayhem known as "Downtown Gatlinburg". The front of the house is very small and antiquated, but in a way that feels warm, cozy and inviting. As former foodies (30 combined years experience), we'd have to say that the negative reviews listed are inaccurate. The food is exceptionally well prepared. This does cause somewhat of a "wait" for your entree(s), but this little restaurant simply refuses to join the "fast food world" or "quick service chain epidemic". Don't expect fine dining server etiquette, but be prepared for sincere service.

Great little family owned hole in the wall restraunt, staff was fantastic and the food was ok. Nice little break from all the chain eateries in the area

Been coming to Gatlinburg for 30 years, and finally was able to make it here. Pretty good, not the best I've ever had, but it is worth coming here. Make a reservation because there's not much seating!

After a beautiful hike at the national park, my bf and I wanted a good meal. I chose the Smoky Mountain Trout House because of the good reviews. We got there about 5:30 and it was the perfect time. I would recommend getting reservations because it is pretty small. We lucked out and got there before the crowd.
We started off with the trout fritters. They we're very yummy and the dill sauce that accompanied with this was perfect! I chose the Eisenhower Trout and my bf got the Dilly Trout. To be honest, I thought his was the better of the two. Not that was wasn't good, I just preferred his. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!
