04/23/2012 3:47 amWe had an excellent meal here. We walked in early on a Saturday night, tired from a day of sightseeing and without a reservation, and were greeted with friendly, attentive service. The eggplant and cheese entree was perfectly cooked with subtle seasoning. The herb mixture in the olive oil complemented the bread perfectly. As Californians, we found the choices on the wine list to be quite acceptable and the prices reasonable. In a city full of southern barbecue, we were delighted to find this and a handful of other places where the food is based on fresh ingredients and a more sophisticated and healthful approach to their preparation. |

12/13/2010 8:09 pmThe service was terrible. The waitress took 30 minutes just to bring out a bowl of soup. We ordered the filet and the veal, both of which came out cold. The veal had absolutely no taste, and the filet was cold. Horrible experience. Definitely not worth the $130 tab that we payed. Awful. |

01/31/2009 11:12 pmThis restaurant needs to understand that just because you charge more doesn't mean that you are instantly a great restaurant. The prices are extremely inflated for the quality of food. Many italian chain restaurants have better tasting dishes. There was a puddle of butter left on my plate after the meal was done. The pesto cream sauce tasted like the chef was subject to the loose top on the salt shaker trick as it was so salty that 3 glasses of water couldn't quench my thirst. The waiter was extremely rude. Also from higher quality restaurants I expect that the server delivering the food would know where it goes instead of interupting our conversation to ask who got what. There was barely a greeting from the hostess and no comments when we left, as she was busy texting on her cell phone. I apologize to anyone that goes to this restaurant without looking what others have to say. This is an atrocity to the downtown area looking to revive itself with high quality establishments |
