Before I begin, let me share, "Yes, I know the difference of how certain regions of the US prepare BBQ"

Something was lost in translation for I thought I asked the Concierge at the hotel for the "best Bar-B-Que in Greensboro"! I should have known when he said "go out the door, make three left turns. That would have put me right back on the street in front of the hotel"
None the less we found the address and ended up at Stamey's. The very nondescript building had "0" BBQ Joint flare. Just a yellow building with no smoke. Upon further review, I should have known then!

First up - Service. We were greeted by a nice and polite fella! waiter, I suspect he knew he had the jump on us! None the less he informed us that "THEY" were known for 3 things - BBQ, Cole Slaw and Hush Puppies!

We ordered all three. Sliced Pork, Pulled Pork, Cole Slaw, Hush Puppies, enough to feed three. The fourth member of our group who turned out to be a "Visionary, Sage, Seer, Prophet" ordered Chicken Tenders and a Lemonade.

Upon the arrival of our food, we noted that the Cole Slaw looked remarkably like Fried Rice less shrimp, chicken etc.Only after tasting were we able to determine it was "Cole Slaw".
The meat was awash in a sauce that was vinegar based. For some reason I thought BBQ was at some point heated/cooked with smoke that generally came from wood or coals. I must have missed the episode on the Cooking Network in which they "cold air infused" meat and sell it off as BBQ. This stuff was terrible! I've often wondered what Soylent Green tasted like, well now I know!

Hush Puppies did not help this "train wreck" of a meal. Mini-fingers that were cold is the best description I have!

Honestly the member of our group who opted for the chicken tenders had the best of meal! Who would have thought chicken tenders vs BBQ and winner is "chicken fingers'

After spending $73, suffering the wrath of my family - they took my restaurant selection certificate away - I was not longer in the "inner circle" all because of Stamey's! The irony, I asked others in the area who were in the food industry where they would go and not one response was for Stamey's.Someone actually recommended the Texas Roadhouse for real BBQ. Oh the humanity!

The chopped plate is delicious. I LOVE the slaw. I'm not a big slaw fan because I don't like mayo but their slaw is made with their special dip. It's so good. The staff is also very friendly.
