Steak 'n Shake, Greensboro, North Carolina Restaurant Details

Food:

Worst service I have ever had. Food was wrong, waiter had an attitude because his relief was late, no napkins, and we had to ASK to be waited on. Seriously? I have no real words to describe the shittiness of the night shift tonight. Hope the mgr fires all of them and starts fresh.

They are just not very organized it was a whole lot better when I worked there, at least I was nice about everything.

You probably don't want to come on wedneday nights if youre looking for a late grub.. So me and my best friend decides to come here and eat.... was about 1:30 a.m.. my server was named "Adonis" he was nice.... I guess. We both ordered special shakes... she wanted a glass of water to wash down with also.. our orders were simple we both got burgers and fries... we then asked what came in their garden salads.. and he said he "didn't know" so I said can you please go find out because we would like it for an appetizer......... didn't come back. Didn't let us know. Now he was not busy at all.... the next round he came back was with our food wtf... didn't see him again... I got up to ask THE COOK can I get ranch and honey mustard because that's what we eat with our fries.... still didn't get her water... now yes he finally comes back... with our shakes, after we got our food already... whatever though I was ready to enjoy my shake... now while we're eating he is standing behind me handing us our shakes!!! Lazy mf didn't wanna walk around.. and set it on the table, at least! OH then he stuck the spoon in my shake... but I saw his finger dipped in as well.... i was done after that. I even just asked for a to-go cup and i just scraped the whole top of my shake off so I wouldnt have to go through the hassle of why I didn't want my shake anymore. So now you know a customer is finished when you see napkins on their plates..... he comes back and says "oh, y'all wanted to know what came in our garden salads" blah blah blah we're not interested in no salad our food gone now.... can we get our check... we are at the register paying and my best friend asked was he "new" he said no and that he had been working there for 4 months lol! We laughed a little after that part, of course he was salty afterwards. Now I needed my reciept and he says its just not printing out... I said you should get your manager to help you... the manager told us to hold on, and walked to the back and we waited for about 15 mins til we realized he wasn't coming back... Overall food was okay a little sloppy but you get what you pay for, I guess. Service... please I'm a waitress myself and I would know if something was wrong with my service... I guess they really "don't care" and this is why we "don't care" if you get this tip or not. I was hungry, so he was lucky.

Horrible service! Servers stand around and talk without paying any attention to their customers. We dined in and could hear the loud and obnoxious drive thru staff from our seats cussing, yelling, laughing, etc. We waited at least 10 minutes after we were seated for our orders to be taken. Then, watched our food sit under the heat lamp for a while until our server realized that it was waiting on him. This steak and shake experience was like no other. I visit steak and shake often and have never had a complaint. Will not be going back to Lawndale dr.

Food:

Service is decent to terrible depending on who you get for your server and when you go. They do an awful lot of sitting around and doing nothing while service and store/premises cleanliness goes out the window. Drive thru should be avoided as it is one of the slowest drive thrus I have ever seen in my life.

tonight was great. i was in and seated had my drink, placed my food order, and had my complete order in less than 15 minutes. this was great and the food was so fresh and hot. i don't think i have had a better sandwich/burger than i had this go around.
triple steakburger with cheese! there was only a few groups of customers here this time but that left more time for the servers to focus on the business they do have. the only thing that worries me was their sanitation score.

their latest score was 93.5 on 4/30/14 and here is what they failed on:
- when to wash hands required and must be properly practiced. after touching ones body or before changing gloves
-sanitizer not properly made up and used at proper strength. quat sanitizer must be min. of 200ppm.
-effectiveness-hair restraints - required for food handlers.
-must cover/ protect cups at dispensers. keep all single service items inverted.
-repair condensation leaking at burger prep. station. replace gasket on reachin freezer. must repair running faucet not cutting off.must replace parts and racks in mccall freezer.
-must clean and sanitize top of ice machine, shelf above 3 comp. sink, clean utensil storage rack. also must clean betw/ equipt. as discussed.
-must clean floors better under and behind equipt
