Regulars keep coming back over and over again to these classy, modern New American bistros for the consistent sophisticated takes on comfort food and the people-watching (via trendy patios at the Back Bay and South End locales and at the wine bar in the newer Southie spot); some say service can be lacking on occasion, possibly due to packed houses.

YUM YUM YUM!!
We had a delicious salad and yummy bread. Fabulous waitress, we even got cobbler to go! A little pricy, but worth it.
My only complaint was that my chicken parmesan was a little spicy:(

Came here for a brunch on the weekend. they seated us quickly and the staff is very friendly.

Food:
new england clam chowder - Just what you need on a cold day
salty pretzel crusted crab cake benedict - I really liked this dish, the eggs were cooked right and the crab tasted good
meatloaf hash - Not a big fan of this dish. It was a huge portion, but there wasn't much flavor.

If you are looking for a place with consistent menu and good options for brunch, this place is a good option.

Much better than the original Stephanie's on Newbury which is over rated and over hyped. This place has delicious, lunch, sandwiches, brunch food, and drinks! Especially in the summer months when the windows are open and it's bright and airy, or if you are lucky enough to get outdoor seats. They let you bring your dog and sit outside which is nice also.

Update 11/10: Went for dinner, the service was slow, drinks took forever to come out. My dish came incomplete because they ran out of the home made apple sauce but neglected to tell me making the dish dry and unappetizing. The waitress didn't specify what was gluten free which was a problem, and on top of that, they didn't apologize for the wait, the missing sides on my dish, and the waitress took forever with our credit cards when we went to pay.

Bottom line - stick to brunch or lunch - dinner isn't worth it.

This review is for the southie location:

Walked in the back door and the manager looked right at use with out a hello or pointing use to the host.. Halfway through our dinner he comes over and asked if all was well.

Food was ok would I come back NO

I will never go to Stephi's ever after the way the host & hostess treated me. They seated people that came in after me and were extremely dismissive to me and my boyfriend who happens to be a Boston cop. I guess cops are adequate enough to protect them and the city, but not good enough to be treated fairly or respect in this establishment!

I did however have a fantastic brunch at Masa and suggest you go down the street to their establishment instead.
