Stone Lotus, Chicago, Illinois Restaurant Details

Words can not describe how AWFUL this club is. From the owner, to the Promoter Amanda, to the bouncers, they are all terrible. My friends and I paid $800 to Stone lotus for 3 bottles of Vodka and 2 bottles and champaign. Half way through the night, the promoter, bouncers, & servers tried to pull a fast one on us and tell us that we had recieved all of our bottles, in which we clearly didn't. Bc we stuck up for ourselves, they kicked us out of the bar, and the owner threatened to send "butchers" to my house. Real classy and I wouldn't recommend this place to absolutely NO ONE! Horrible service, and on top of that the space sucks! Good luck if you go here, and don't expect anything worth your while or money. If it gets a rating above 1 star, I can REASSURE you that it is a club promoter or someone being paid in order to do so.

What a great club!!! I went with some friends and had one of the best nights ever!! The music was awesome since we got to choose from two seperate floors each with thier own dj, the drinks were very good and priced well, and the staff was fun and very good looking!! The crowd was also good looking!! I cant wait to go back this weekend!!!

I'm not really a big bar/clubby clubby person so this isn't my first choice of places to go but the trendy crowd seems to love it here. Look for mid 20 somethings with cars they have no business driving drinking over priced liquor because it seems like the thing to do.

I end up here almost every weekend that I go out downtown, no matter what club i start the night out with. They play awesome house music and the crowd is good looking. Not a hole in the wall like some other places in the city, but it is small so it does get crowded before they open the downstairs at around 2 am.. Either way it's always a great time here!

Last night 8/22/09, a group of myself and 4 other friends went to Stone Lotus. We are all African-American. We left a another club and bottle service to go to Stone Lotus. Upon arrival we stood outside waiting to be allowed in. Several white patrons were permitted to enter while we waited. After several minutes passed, we inquired about the wait. A bouncer said to my friend w/in earshot "She (referring to me) can't come in with her hair like that and wearing babyphat". My hair was natural (curly fro). Coincidentally, I've been to stone lotus before wearing another babyphat outfit but with my hair straightened. Since when does a woman's hairstyle bar her from entering a club? We asked for a manager who added insult to injury by denying that the bouncer said what he said. The manager further aggravated the situation by stating "there's a 2 bottle minimum" repeatedly even after we said that wasn't a problem. I guess the assumption was that we couldn't afford the bottle service. This type of blatant racism shouldn't be supported or allowed in 2009.
