03/30/2016 3:27 amFrom the elegant, mouthwatering Italian plates to the attentive service, they do everything the right way at these pricey but well-worth-it North End and Seaport District go-tos from restaurateur Nick Varano; both sites buzz with New York ambiance, though the more upscale Seaport District location affords an opportunity to catch local celebrities soaking up the harbor view. |

12/15/2015 3:08 pmI have to go here every year for a work dinner and it gets worse each time. Last visit I had to wait about 30 minutes to order a drink while the waiter ignored half of the table. They cram tables into this place to the point it's uncomfortable and the food is way overpriced. For this price range you're better off literally anywhere else. |

08/30/2015 12:00 pmThis is the first review I have ever written but for how disappointing and awful this meal was I had to write it. This was the most expensive meal ive ever had that failed every expectation. I have no issue with price when it comes to good food but that's not what Strega offered. My husband had clams casino that came with about 7 clams (small) that were all over cooked. In addition, the sauce/oil was pooled at the bottom of his dish. For a relatively simple meal, it should be better than you can produce at home. My sea bass came with a few bones still in it and the white wine sauce was just a heavy butter sauce as I could taste nothing else. Sadly, the gnocchio, which seemed made in house, also sat in a pool of butter sauce. The spicy shrimp appetizer, for $21, was just 5 shrimp, cut in half - im assuming to make it look like more than it was - just seemed like shrimp cooked in a spicy oil with stale bread on the top (clearly they had given up on making a crostini). Our friend got the bolognese pasta which like the rest sat in an oil pool. This was supposed to be a filet meat sauce but the amount of filet was negligible and any amount was quickly overpowered by the oil. Lastly, another meal was the surf and turf that came with an overcooked lobster and a filet that no steak house would be proud of since it was about an inch thick. Since filets on the menu are over $50 we expected a good 2-3 inch cut like any steak house in Boston would offer. While the service was great, they clearly have given up on a good product knowing that since it was packed with people that they can get by. Not worth your $! Go someplace else. |

08/15/2015 3:04 amThe food and service was excellent. We had the calamari(also with shrimp and scallop that was tender) special and it was delicious. My gf had the surf and turf and I had the salmon. All was excellent and will return again. |

06/19/2015 2:07 pmWe were a party of 6 celebrating my daughters birthday. The view is awesome, no problem parking. The food was very good, the service was ok at times they were very attentive then would disappear for quite some time. Also we were provided a circular booth, 5 in the booth is a bit snug and they added a chair for the 6th person. My son is 6'4" and this was not a great fit. Make sure they know the size of the people coming. |
