I had been to Sunflower's Cafe many years ago in it's old location, but had not visited this location until recently. The parking lot was packed and so was the restaurant for a late Friday lunch. There was quite a line to place an order and no seats available at first. I assumed that this place is popular because the food is good. I was not let down. I had the New Club in Town Sandwich which was very tasty. There is a very pleasant atmosphere and the location is convenient on Peace Street without getting into the middle of downtown Raleigh.

While traveling from Cary to Raleigh looking for a place to grab a bite I came across this little gem on Google. I was attracted to it because of the name; Sunflowers have sentimental value to me and it truly carried exactly what I needed. Upon walking in you're greeted by the cashier and get to pick from a menu of Favorites for everyone. I was pleased to see a 1/2 & 1/2 Combo. I indulged in a Apple & Portobello Salad and a Fried Green tomato sandwich with a Sweet Tea. Being from up north the only time I've heard of Fried Green tomatoes is in the movie. But boy oh boy did I enjoy it ! It was juicy with a crunch on sunflower bread. The salad had fresh apples and portobello in it. All options can be vegetarian or vegan. The choice is yours. truly a must visit location !

Creative sandwiches, salads and soups. Dependably delicious and homemade. This restaurant is conveniently located, just off Peace Street and offers accessible parking. It's an easy place to meet without getting caught in the craziness of downtown.

I chose long ago to no longer eat at this restaurant, feeling the sandwiches were over priced and the staff was rude. Unfortunately, I gave the old Hardee's a second chance and quickly remembered the reason I chose not to eat there. While sitting at a table waiting for my friend to arrive, I kept getting stares from an older gentleman in a straw hat. Once my friend arrived, we took our place in line and waited to place our order. When we were 2 people back in line, the man in the straw hat approached me and said since they weren't busy, it wasn't a big deal, but there was a sign saying to not sit until your order had been taken. I let him know I didn't see the sign, to which he replied, this was his house, I could go elsewhere if I chose, but this was his house and his rules. He could have handled the situation differently and kindly let me know his house rules, but he chose to be insulting and indignant, which also must be his house rules.
