Superb Sushi Downtown, Boise, Idaho Restaurant Details

Friday night, heard of the great reviews and looking forward to this. Surprisingly there was only one table occupied when we arrived at 7, prime time on a Friday night...hmmmm
Then we received... Cold sake, served warm cold beer also served warm... Hot miso served cold. Not a great start. Ordered the dragon's breath and LA bomba roll it has got to get better.... Nope. LA bomba is rolled so loose it is falling apart on the plate, made to impress weighing in at one pound however when served with a half pound of cucumber and avocado it looses its luster. And the spicy mayo is literally just warm mayo. On the plus side our server is nice, very attentive, the fish tastes fresh and they have a decent selection of beer.
I have eaten sushi at least twice a week for the last 20 years and my girlfriend has run multiple restaurants. Never have either of us left in the middle of a meal but tonight is my first. Zero stars and I highly suggest you look elsewhere. Many great choices in town, this is not one...

My wife and I were in the mood for some sushi and Google recommended this place. It was super hard to find it, we had to read another review to find it. It really is in an obscure place if you're not familiar with Boise. We saw a fish sign on the street then walked down a dark little hallway, then some stairs and found the sushi place. It's not the prettiest place to eat but I don't care as long as the food is good.

The staff was fantastic, she was nice and greeted us with a smile. When we got our food and water I was a little worried. My glass had a large imprint of lipstick on it. Neither I or my wife wear lipstick so I know it wasn't any of us. I pointed it out to the waitress and she said, "That's disgusting" and it was. This dampened my expectations and overall ease with the restaurant. I was scared that the hygiene of the place might be compromised. I still ate there and the sushi was pretty good. I'm still just grossed out by that glass with the lipstick.

Food:

Semi authentic in a good way. Excellent sushi especially for those who like a little extra wow to their rolls. If you are a fan of spice try the nuke it option.

Stopped by for a lunch special to-go today. Was graciously helped by the owner who was so nice! My sushi as well as the slaw and soup that came along with it were absolutely delicious. I appreciated the chopsticks, soy sauce and little container to enjoy my meal away from the restaurant. I love Superb Sushi and recommend it to any other sushi lovers as the best in town!

Great sushi! quite authentic. We had the combo and it was really good. The indoor courtyard atmosphere is really cool too. definitely going back!
