Food and atmosphere was pretty good. Truthfully better than I expected.

Food:

Good food but skimpy on portions for price. Comparing Sweet Tea to Nikki's West the latter would be my first choice always. Service at Sweet Tea's is ok could always be better the wait staff doesn't seem attentive enough to customer's, another reason why I'd choose Nikki's.

Today, 04/23/15, they had a fried fish special. On the counter was on display a representation of the special. I was given a number so they could bring it to me when it was ready. The fish that was brought to me was absolutely nothing like what they displayed. The oil must have been old. The fried crust was a dark brown and the fish was very greasy. I'm more mad at myself for not taking it back and getting the Greek salad. That would have been the safe / healthy option. I was with a group of about 30 and I wasn't the only one who was displeased with the fish "special".

Sweet Tea and Tim the manager graciously supplied dinner for the Berry Middle School Basketball tournament Tuesday night and what a success the night was. The BBQ chicken legs were the best in town and I would say else where. They were finger licking good. The home made ranch topped them off. The salads were so crispy, tasty and fresh and beautiful to look at. From coaches, referees, basketball parents and staff for the game were all asking where the food came from because it was so good. We would all like to recommend Sweet Tea to everyone in town. I just ask the the manager would put the BBQ chicken legs on the menu like they are at PTs in Homewood. To end the experience the manger Tim called that night after the event to make sure that everything went smooth and that people were pleased with the dinner. Of course everyone was pleased.

Thank you for taking an interest in our girls basketball team and turning our hospitality room dinner into one that folks won't forget.

Overrated on the comments about how good the place is. So not true! I’m a palled at how much there prices are for 1 plate so I called a round to compare prices and one restaurant charges 6.95 for 1 meat and 2 vegetables were as Sweet Tea charges 12.95 for 1 meat and 2 veggies and smaller portions. The manger Tim has no respect for customer service and his management staff is the same as him. They don’t go the extra mile to please there customers. Tim refused to take my complaint or give me a number so I can call an make a formal compliant to their corporate office. In my opinion I would not send any of my friends there, they are not the only Soul Food Restaurant in Town Please go somewhere Else!! Or you might just get Cussed out By Management because you have a problem with There Food! (Oh by the way I just wanted the Corporate number to make a complaint about they service's, that’s when Mr. Tim cussed me out) I spent a little over 70.00 + tip included............I guess I didn’t spend enough money for my family and I!
