Hopefully the cakes actually taste good, but I wouldn't know because I never got mine and I will never find out after this experience.

I spoke with someone from Sweete Memories (now part of Ingrid's Kitchen) on a Wednesday about a cake for my daughter's birthday party that would be that Saturday at 6:30PM. I wanted a custom cake and she asked me to send a pic over e-mail. I did and I provided all of the details of the cake, party, and my phone number and e-mail. It was too late to call back that night, but I called back the next day on Thursday (she said they had to have at least 3 days to make it, so she said Thursday before noon would work).

When I called back I got a different person on the phone and they weren't familiar with the e-mail. So they checked it, came back, said they could do it, told me the price, and asked me when I would want to pick it up. I asked when they closed on Saturday, and he said 6PM. So I said I would pick it up at 5PM on Saturday.

Saturday came and we had some snow. I started to get concerned since I haven't heard anything, so I called around 4PM and I had no answer. I called over and over again, no answer. I looked up their company on the web and got even more afraid when I saw that several websites showed that they closed at 3PM on Saturdays. This would be quite terrible since it was later than that and it conflicted with what the employee told me previously.

Either way, I had my phone on all day and I get e-mail on my phone, but I hadn't heard anything from them. I decided to drive up there at 4:30 PM and when I got there I just say a note on the door that said, "Sorry, we closed early due to the weather. Sorry for the inconvenience."

WOW! I didn't even know what to say or do except get angrier and keep calling and I waited around until 5:15 and finally had to leave to find some other cake since my daughter's party was in about an hour. Oh yeah, also my car battery died in their parking lot, so I had even less time to get a cake. Thankfully, La Baguette was nearby and really helped out (they're going to get a great review).

I understand if they had to close down early, but why wouldn't they use at least one of my communication methods to get in touch with me and ask me to pick it up early??? I sent them an e-mail right after that asking them what had happened, but never got a reply.
Here's where the customer service just gets WORSE. I got a call the week after on a Tuesday from someone that sounded like the same guy that took my order and he said something along the lines of, "So are you ever going to pick up this cake or not?". I had no idea how to reply to such a rude and ridiculous statement after hearing nothing from them on Saturday. So I laughed and said, "No... No I don't think so since you didn't have it for me on SATURDAY!". To which I got an "Okay..." and he hung up.

I was so baffled that I got angry again, called back, and asked to speak to a manager. The person that answered claimed to be a manager. I calmly explained the situation to him and he just said that there was a note on the cake that said they called and there was no answer around noon on Saturday. I checked my phone right then and there and there were no calls. I also didn't get a voicemail. Clearly they had my number because I heard from the amazingly helpful employee on Tuesday, but somehow I didn't get their call that day. I had many other calls that day and they're the only ones that, supposedly, didn't get through. They also didn't mention calling again or trying my e-mail. When I brought up those concerns, he just reminded me that they said they called and there was nothing much else to say. No apology - nothing.

Well, I can't argue with a piece of paper and a manager that doesn't care, and what's the point? So thanks for nothing Sweete Memories/Ingrid! Enjoy all of the bad reviews that I'm going to give you.

only one bad thing was the picture I emailed to sharon, I was not sure she got for the cake picture so I had to print it out and go give it to her. but other than that the cake was delicious and looked great. had others ask where I had got it. I happily told them. ill post a picture of the cake. itll be the one with a Indian head on it.

I have purchased a cake for my daughter's birthday. It turned out beautiful and was the talk of her party. Not only was the cake beautiful, it was fresh and delicious. A+

My experiences here have been awful. Their storefront manners are marginal at best. You can tell that the people taking the orders have no real concept of the way the cake gets made. Also, the lady who runs the place, Mickey I think her name was, is extremely hateful and rude. I have overheard her yelling at employees, and saying some not very nice things to them. I guess this is why they have such a high employee turnover rate, and very inconsistent products.

My family has ordered several different things here. In addition to some steep pricing, they have terrible cake, and on one that I ordered the icing was drooping down the side of the cake. It was like it was decorated in a sauna or something. I will never go here again, or recommend it to anyone.

If you are going to go to this bakery, I would be weary. And if you order something, be sure that you like it before you leave, or they will not take it back!!!

We decided to order a nursery rhyme themed cake from Sweet Memories for our baby shower, we spent hours finding the perfect pictures just as they requested, and even laid them out exactly how we wanted the cake to look and sent the design in an email. After waiting 3 days we finally called to confirm they got the order. The lady said "Yes, it's going to be beautiful, no problem at all!" When my mother went to pick up the cake the day of the shower the cake was NOTHING like we ordered at all. None of the pictures were included on the cake, just a bunch of pink flowers and the quote that we requested. When I called all she could say was "The lady that took the order wasn't specific enough." When I advised her that we sent exactly what we wanted by email she was unable to provide me any logical explanation. They tried to send my mother home with just a gift certificate so we could give them more of our business! I am trashing the gift certificate and have demanded a refund, I'll be watching my account to make sure it actually shows up. Never using this place again!
