Excellent food (especially the bagels and schmear), plus a great place to sit & get work done. Go early in the morning though, or the seating will be gone!

I'm not vegan, but you don't have to be in order to enjoy sugary nom noms. Baked goods get a thumbs up. Will likely return.

I am sure the new owner himself is a cool guy, but the server I had...well, lets' just say she needs some serious customer service training. I had a bowl of the soup of the day--garbanzo/vegetable. While it sounded awesome, it was as if somebody poured a can of garbanzos into a pot, added water and steamed vegetables and voila--bland, tasteless, watery soup. Let's hope for better results and a more friendly, engaging staff in the near future...I'll be going back in a few weeks to check it out.

What's happened to my favorite vegan bakery, Sweet Pea? Seems like things have gone way downhill since Lisa sold it last November. All the long-time great ol' help has now left. The pastry quality is still good, but they are out of most food items by mid afternoon...the display case is often basically bare. Be nice if they didn't run out of their Saturday special donuts so soon. Used to serve their soup in a large bowl with two nice thick pieces of focicia bread; now you get a small bowl with two thin little pieces of focicia...a lot less for the same $5 price and the last three times the soup was basically tasteless. They appear to have cut down in their counter help as often there is a long line and only one person serving customers which can make for a way-too long wait in line. The new owner seems nice, but is he trying to cut too many corners to save $$$? All is not lost and I hope this frank review sparks the beginning of positive change. Hope they turn it around as I like our neighborhood vegan corner.
