LOVE LOVE LOVE the Swizz! Beth (the owner) and her staff are just fantastic down to earth people. Perfect little place to grab a beer, some tunes, ball game, whatever.

Came to this bar once from 4pm to 6:30pm, to meet an old friend. Straight out of the gate.We noticed the "Clique Factor" (snotty rude groups of people) in this place. My friend had a hard time getting the attention of the barkeep to order drinks. She said the barkeep was clearly aware that she was standing there at the bar with money in her hand to place an order. "She looked at me standing there, then turned back and kept talking about some TV show she was telling some guy about!" We figured we were overdressed. We had just stood in a wedding. Not our kind of place... Zero stars really.

I spent the better part of 15 years living on the road traveling from project to project, and would always go explore the nightlife where ever I went. The Swizzle Inn is one of the best neighborhood bars in the country, and I make a point to go here anytime I'm visiting Phoenix. You can sit down next to anyone and have a great conversation. It really feels like home.

The bar is hidden away on the back corner of a tiny shopping strip behind Starbucks. Parking can be a huge problem, but it's worth it. The owners are regulars in the bar and bring in free munchies in the afternoon/early evening regularly. The Swizzle is tropical themed, but dimly lit, and has a pool table, dart board, and C-shaped bar. Very decked out for holidays like christmas, halloween, and St. Patrick's Day.

Open to people of all persuasions.

You'll find a mix of people at this long-standing Central Phoenix dive, where Christmas lights left up year-round and a mess of stickers on the bar provide the decor, a jukebox supplies the tunes and bartenders pour strong cocktails. Weekly trivia nights and cheap drink specials add to its charm, and there's also a pool table and TVs tuned to sports.
