Don't make the same mistake we did...
After months of passing Taco Casa on the road, we finally decided to give it a try. We had planned on eating some good Mexican food before going to the movies, but plans do not always go as such.
As many do, we read the reviews of the restaurant before trying it. We were frightened, but some of them were promising. After concluding that the reviews may not be so great because those who have a negative experience are more likely to post a review, we headed to the Casa.
Upon arriving, I was pleased to see other people were eating at this sketchy place. This, as I learned, should not always be a reason for confidence. Two workers were present, and neither of them were competent. After overcharging us for food we didn't order, the food we did order was not given to us when the takeout was "ready". The two missed items? Chips, and a TACO.
Maybe the food will be good though! NO. This should've been expected. The restaurant proudly displays photos of clearly poor quality for their menu items. It should be noted that I would've been happy to receive the food the pictures than what was actually given to me.
Overall, this restaurant is a "D". Service: F. Food: D+. Taco Casa is lucky I did not wait until after the imminent sickness. Again, DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID. Honestly, just go to Taco Bell.

I WILL NEVER EVER visit this restaurant again. The Hyde Park Taco Casa the experience was like no other. I've only ate at this particular Taco Casa 3 times and the first 2 were good. This third visit was HORRIBLE!!!!!!! First I was on lunch which meant I couldn't return anything if I wanted to. I ordered a combo #1 and substituted a tuna boat for the regular burrito boat. When placing my order the person on the phone ( the one who knew everything but knew NOTHING) made my ordering more difficult than it really was...How hard is it to substitute one item for another right? After completing my first order I proceeded with my second order and left. Upon arriving back to work I noticed that my small taco salad was nothing like I had before. The food was so greasy that my lettuce welted. On top of that ,toppings and fillings were skimpy. The tomatoes was like a tomato paste with a weird taste, the beans were hard and I just wanted to get my food re made. When I called to the restaurant I spoke with, wait for it,THE OWNER. Trying to explain what was wrong with the food, the owner was EXTREMELY rude and he told me that I couldn't get a credit nor could I get my money back. HE said that he knew all the food was made correctly because he made the food himself. When I TRIED to explain again that this isn't what I paid for and that I just visited the store in Walnut Hills yesterday and got BETTER results than today,he continued to cut me off and when I asked is this how this company handles customers complaints his exact words were "Yep"...

DO NOT VISIT THIS RESTAURANT EVER!!!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed the blackened salmon soft taco. It was so delicious and full of favor. The taco was prepared the way I ordered it and the salmon was fresh. This soft taco was better than what I have had at a sit down restaurant downtown.

I don't think the people who ate here and reviewed gave it much of a fare shake or knew how to order and eat it . The Beef burrito's , always extra beef these days and the mild tomato sauce is the classic way to go though it was mixed in with the cheese when i was a kid giving it a unique flavor that i still achieve . Taco salads are the rage to most, love the spicy enchilada boats . Tacos are great and fresh tasting , was going tonight but not enough time to make it , was looking up number and couldn't believe these review's . Always great stuff for a good bowel movement as well , LOL . The Taqueria Mercado 3 on route for is more authentic and the 1st place of it's kind in the tristate with a steak burrito that beats anyone else the size of a small loaf of bread and excellent food as well but a different day and a differnt thing for me .
