This is the third and final time I'm going to comment about this, the food is coming out "not hot". and if it's one thing that I don't like is cold food.

Worst saimin I've ever had in my life!!! Shouldve caught the hint when I looked around & less than a quarter of the people were eating saimin.

Tanaka's Saimin sucks. It's soggy noodles & fishy tasting broth is terrible. My husband's mix plate was over cooked. His Teri meat was dry. Than they had their nerve to charge extra because he doesn't eat rice & wanted to sub his rice for fries instead. The waitress was slow maybe cuz she was old & probably needed to retire. When they first opened it was good, not any more.

I wish I could say that this place was good, but the fishy smell, fishy taste, and flat boring noodles left me with a bad fishy taste in my mouth. I left wondering, "Did I ever like saimin?" Is local saimin really that bad?! I had forgotten because Japanese ramen places have overtaken the the local hole in the wall saimin stands. But, it was that bad. The other folks in my party of four also concurred. Though one out of the group had their special of the day which was a steamed basa prepared Chinese style - he said that was yummy.

The ambiance is nice - very clean and spacious (you don't feel claustrophobic squeezed in like other saimin places). The service was friendly as well. If you're looking for true local style kind of food - (deeply battered, not lightly tempura-ed shrimp and little barbeque beef meat) then this is the place. I'd say nix on the saimin unless you're looking for a fishy tasting broth however.
