03/06/2015 8:32 pmDelicious. Unexpected gem for a nice evening out with a date. Wild mushroom pastry with feta cheese and truffle oil is unique, surprising and yummy. The appetizer lamb meatballs with minty pesto sauce is a new take on meatballs that I really enjoyed as well. Had a veal shank entree that was fork tender with bone marrow in uniquely appetizing flavors. Will visit again on live music night 3/21 before they move downtown. |

01/20/2015 7:28 amAlthough the food was very good, the service and welcoming feeling feel severely short of even standard let alone anything that the prices of the food should have dictated. When we arrived, the host at first smiled at us upon entry, but once he asked if we had a reservation and we said no, his attitude and treatment of us changed instantly. His response to our answer that no, we didn't have a reservation was, "No?!" He then grimaced openly and literally grunted for us to follow him to a table rather than even saying "Follow me" or anything cordial. I thought that perhaps he was just having a bad night until I saw how he treated other diners who came in after us which was with manners and saying things like "I hope you enjoy your dinner", even pushed the chair in for most diners. He also sat us at the only table that did not have silverware or napkins set. |

09/22/2013 10:02 amI would say that this is a hidden gem, but too many know about this amazing restaurant. It is a locally owned and run place with great atmosphere, food, and service. The staff will even work with you on special requests. The food has been amazing...I felt as if I were in Europe for a while. Keep driving down Glenwood and get here! |

09/11/2013 1:25 pmWorst restaurant experience ever! We'd been there before (including special family events), always enjoyed the food and ambiance.... This time (big birthday/family celebration) our server was terrible, no social skills or enthusiasm whatsoever. He apparently forgot my mom's order (she was the first to order), then when her meal did not arrive with the others he accused her of not ordering...he then went to put the order in but instead of someone coming out to make it right (another app, glass of wine, anything!) we waited till everyone else had already finished their meal, then approached the manager/owner, who stood by his server's word. At that point (even though he refused to claim any responsibility for what had happened) he comped 2 glasses of wine and the missing meal but by then the damage had been done, ruined my special evening. We wont be back. Disappointing since it's one-of-a-kind in Raleigh... |
