The atmosphere is authentic, but the servings are small and the food is expensive. We're not "hardcore" sushi eaters, but ordered four rolls and some yakitori, and $56 later, were still hungry enough to stop at Blue Fish on the way home for more. The selection of yakitori is unmatched, so if that's what you're after, this might be the spot. But it's small, so make a reservation. For us, Teppo did not live up to all the great stuff we've heard about it. It sure was crowded though, so it's definitely right for some folks.

This is the worst restaurant I've never been in my whole life.
They had us waited for a table until all of my friends come.
The receptionist bad the waitresses were so rude and bad mannered.
DARN!!!

My favorite restaurant in Dallas. Best yakitory in town. It's better than the yakitory I had in Japan. Not exaggerating. Order the duck breast x 2. Trust me. You won't want just 1.

My friend and I came here for dinner around 9:20pm on a Sunday night.

1. Soft shell crab roll, 7
Okay. Definitely not as good as Sushi Sake's crab roll though.

2. White meat chicken yakitori, 4.50
Pretty good. She thought it was dry, but I thought it was decent. Spices could have been a bit stronger though, and I didn't really like the wasabi mustard.

3. Smoked sockeye salmon with melon, 9
Okay. The salmon and melon were okay, but could have been better quality. Pairing them together didn't taste as good as I hoped.

4. Gazpacho clamswith microgreens, 12
Not that great. Microgreens were too bitter and overpowered the clams. Clams were just okay, despite the server recommending it and saying it was super fresh.

5. Black sesame ice cream, 6
Okay. Yuzu probably would have tasted better. The black sesame was okay, but don't get it if you're not a fan of sesame. It reminded me of the sticky rice balls with black sesame I used to eat all the time at home. I thought this came with azuki bean, but apparently not.

Service was okay, but the decor was nice.

Omikaze was pricy but definitely worth it. We had 9 courses, and each one was an experience unto itself. No doubt, best sushi I've had in Dallas. The sushi was fresh and flavorful, the wagyu melts in your mouth.
