The Bier Garden, Asheville, North Carolina Restaurant Details

Food:

This place is terrible. First, we waited 30 minutes for our food, then when my salmon came out, it wasn't even cooked! The menu said nothing about it not being cooked either. I would not recommend this place. Terrible atmosphere. Not very Asheville like. If you want to go to a place like this, just much better, go to Buffalo Wild Wings.

Great place to grab drinks! Lots of local beers on tap as well as a large selection of bottled brews. They also have pool and air hockey tables in the back.

I have lived in Asheville for 2 and a half years now, and have visited almost a ton of bars downtown, and Bier Garden is on the list of my least favorite places to visit. The food is mediocre and overpriced, their beer selection is really good if you're looking for "non local" beer...but it's also overpriced. If you want to get a good beer that is not "local" this is your place. But I can only recommend this place for a beer, and only before dinner time on the weekends.

After dinner this place turns into the worst atmosphere. This is the only bar in Asheville I've ever seen a fight, and I've seen it there twice. The bouncers try to pick fights to satisfy their roid raged egos, there is not a time I've been at closing time where they haven't literally dragged a customer out that really wasn't being that unpleasant.

There's usually a DJ on the weekends playing some music. I keep going back because this place has potential to be a fun hangout on the weekend, but the clientele and the employees keep disappointing me. I think I've officially given up on this place.

One of the best beer selections in town, great ambiance with a sports pub feel. love this place! will definitely recommend and return frequently.

This was recommended to us by a friend and after looking at some of the reviews we almost didn't go, but I'm glad we went....I think people need to keep in mind you are going here for the beer selection....so many beer's you don't know what to do with yourself...it was a lot of fun....the food was good bar food. We were extremely happy. We had the cheese plate, the bacon and gouda mac and cheese and their wings. Everything was delicious. We love food and can be very critical; we would definitely go back! If you are looking for elegant dining, go to the higher end Asheville restaurants, but this had a great atmosphere and great beer selection. Thanks!
